really good roster, only significant missing players are Musah and Zardes. Pepi gets the call up, and Konrad brought into the fold.

I think a lot of the usmnt fan meltdown is overwrought, but they do need to figure out how to actually break down an organized defense and create chances now that teams are more happy to sit back and defend + counter. The lack of goals (or chances...or touches) coming from our #9 has been a pretty consistent theme all year across competition. There is a general issue of lack of experience, we have a golden generation but its very very young and directly after a generation gap and that is showing.

Fortunately the rest of the octagon results have been really favorable for the U.S. so far, in that everyone but Mexico is spilling points all over the place. But the margin for error later in qualifying is shrinking.
