Can someone explain why they keep ruining Firefox when it was fine circa 2004? You're not even allowed to use any but a few preselected extensions on Firefox mobile anymore. Today I got a random update on PC that made the tabs look like unreadable rear end. :thanks:

Even though the app is portable it checks for updates and updates on its own with no way in the browser interface to disable this, which is pretty loving dumb for a dev edition browser. Set the above registry keys and it won't do that. Also turns off the telemetry.

I like Firefox. It has privacy add-ons that I care about and outside of that as long as the UI isn't actively fighting me I don't really care.

I for one appreciate that we have a gamut of browser options. They all suck, but we have options.

lol you just install firefox, install adblock plus and uBlock origin, then you just use the import mode in firefox bookmarks and import from browser: chrome. it pulled in all my settings and bookmarks and passwords. a++ would ditch chrome again. will update when i find something that doesn't work correctly in 4 or 5 days

You don't need/want adblock plus when you have uBlock origin, which does all that and more. uBlock origin is good.

Yeah Firefox sucks ever since they got rid of Tab Mix Plus. If you had a million tabs open, it would let them show up vertically, so you could still see all the titles of the tabs. Now Firefox forbids this for some stupid reason.

So now the only browser worth a drat is WaterFox Classic with Tab Mix Plus.

I don't think I've ever had more than like six tabs open so I too saw the new symbol as extra bullshit I would not use and could not get rid of, which was mildly irritating at best.
And then Chrome decided to stop working entirely. Wouldn't load a single page, all extensions all crash on startup. So I uninstalled it. And then I opened Edge to reinstall Chrome and noticed that somehow it had all my bookmarks, saved passwords, and ublock origin already so now I'm just using Edge. And I think... it might be perfectly fine. What a time to be alive.
