I honestly don’t know what Portal was supposed to accomplish and I think EA didn’t either. Snippy jokes aside, Squad is good and ArmA is… ArmA and I don’t think the conversion rate of new players for either is going to come much from people who play BF over CoD, because of player count and vehicles. They’re pretty different things at the end of the day. The other games are effectively vaporware or wildly ambitious and unlikely to deliver.

Yeah I played 1200 hours and I dont remember ever seeing a cheater. Points to EA where due if the anti-hack works well. Kernel-level anti-hack gets a bad name, but it's the only way to actually prevent cheating significantly.

I think it's a little low of them to restrict under barrel grenade launchers to one round e most of the "cheating" I see is clipping allowed by the map, or weird character movements allowed by a quirk of the controls. Inspector Hound fucked around with this message at 16:48 on Apr 4, 2024 |

I think I can count the number of flagrant cheaters I've seen on one hand, although one was a game with an entire cheater squad in a Hind instantly deleting everyone with the miniguns. Apparently the hotness right now is to cheat with aircraft because nobody can figure out if it's an aimbot or one of those people that spends their every waking hour in a Nightbird. edit: If you're gonna do a gimmick, do it well.

One day I'll get my wish and we'll get 2143. Then the monkeypaw will curl into a fist and punch me in the gut. 2143 will be a hero-shooter, looter, GaaS with pay-to-win mechanics and lootboxes. Also they'll forget to add in Titan mode and make it Tarkov mode instead.
