memeing aside I just watched a guy light a beacon to a generic combat mission where he rides there on his teleporting horse and then proceeds to stealth kill them all for loot

I'm just happy the crowd of people who like open world beacon lighting map unlocking crafting games with an animal companion where you can crouch walk to avoid generic enemy encounters that give you incremental pieces of loot are finally getting another game. looks like it's missing walk and talk missions but I'm sure they can add some if the fans request it

Has anyone used the Cipher Pata? I'm juicing my faith to 30 to be able to use it but I'm afraid I'll hate it. If I equip the +5 faith talisman can I equip it with 25 faith?

So I did end up equipping the cipher pata and really love em, especially the dual wield. you can r1 and interrupt most small enemies before they get off and r2 quickly too. equipping the faith talisman let me use it with faith 25.

I'm still using the starting Confessor shield, are there any other decent 100% phys resist ones to go for? ive seen a guide say to use the brass shield but it doesn't seem that much better. how does the shield weapon art work? do you have to 2hand the shield, pop the weapon art, then get your main hand back out? juiced the nightrider flail to hell and do like it. you can charge R2 on horseback and you'll swing your flail for constant damage, makes it very easy to proc bleed. guard counters with it are quick and easy. watching my friends use strength weapons and chunk poo poo in 5 hits is a little discouraging but what can you do. kinda wish I hadn't jacked my faith and dex both up to 25 because I'm feeling real low on health, stamina, and especially FP. With the extra points I put into arcane for the dragon spells I've invested points in literally every category

you can see most of the side dungeons on the map if you look closely. idk about most but many. it's good to explore every square inch of the overworld anyway imo. this game plays with your sightlines expertly, often you need to be up close to see treasures and loot.
