You don’t “need” a maxed-out weapon but as a new player on my first run, it does discourage me from trying most of the overwhelming number of different weapons. I have a couple of upgraded weapons I’ve been using and anything else is going to feel weak by comparison unless I upgrade that to a similar level, and probably respec into different stats while I’m at it, since if you’re not a caster, strength, dex, int, faith, and arcane are all basically the same stat but for different weapons

Just finished my first run and started messing around in NG+. Accidentally murdered Patches in about 2 seconds before he could surrender. Whoops. Guess I’m not doing his quest line this run either

I don’t understand this whole “just remember everything” argument against having a dialogue log at all. You might as well get rid of the mana bar from the UI and tell people to just memorise their max mana and the costs of all their spells, and “just remember” how much mana they have left. That said my biggest problem with the quests wasn’t remembering what people wanted me to do, it was not happening to stumble across the random spot they were hiding in the giant open world because I had no reason to go there. Eg eyeball lady’s second location behind a ruin or varre’s second location on a random island in a swamp. Varre I’ll concede was at least somewhere you might actually look if you’re exploring rather just just following grace since there’s a church there, but eyeball lady you could very easily miss even if you explored the ruins since she’s out back between them and the lake

yeah until i respecced into a build with less end I went from banished to radahn because it was the heaviest armour i had at the time. even by the time i finished the game i only had a couple of heavier sets and they required a poo poo-ton of end to still med roll in. i also think it looks pretty sweet and don't get the hate

best set on a purely aesthetic basis is clearly fire prelate. the only flaw is that you can't have a fire going in the bowl on the helmet

I'm guessing you also killed Mohg before you went looking for it? If you do the invaders won't spawn and you're locked out of it for that run. FWIW I'm doing NG+ now. I'm enjoying it still, but it's not as fun as the first run where you're discovering everything. Knowing where you're going and rushing all the bosses has its own charm though.

Assuming you mean seals, they scale off different stats, so depending on your other stats, you might be better off with different seals. They also each give extra buffs to a different school of spells

Everyone’s giving op advice for the Ordina archers but it’s the assassins they said they were struggling with. Which I totally sympathise with, the archers are annoying but at least there’s lots of ways to break LOS. The assassins are absolute bullshit. I found on google that there’s some special torch you can equip which makes them much easier to spot at a reasonable distance. Worked for me so I recommend looking that up

How are people cheesing the Caelid bell bearing hunter from the shack rooftop? When I try it he just runs up right below me where I can't hit him. Doesn't help how zooming in on things below you in Elden Ring makes it look like you have a totally clear shot but then you somehow hit the ledge you're standing on instead e: managed to whittle him down a bit eventually using target lock shooting instead of trying to zoom in. still had to constantly wait for him to reset every time he ran up to the shack. got him to about 40% then ran out of patience, buffed up, and finished him off the old fashioned way Wafflecopper fucked around with this message at 07:45 on Feb 27, 2024 |

Last night I had a dream that I was playing an Elden Ring battle royale mode. I thought it was pretty dope, which is weird considering I've never touched ER multiplayer or a battle royale Still sounds cool in theory, everyone competing for a limited amount of weapons and resources as the map gradually shrinks in on Leyndell
