It's funny with the "blow up the pipeline mission" I had already blown up most of it when doing my find every FND and special weapon crate I possibly can days. I was wondering why pulling those switches blew poo poo up. Also when i was doing the blow up the oil tanks, i tried to use the plane, but every time after about 3 minutes of flight time, the plane would just instantly nose dive and I'd die because i couldn't leap out fast enough. I wasn't shot down, it was like the plane ran out of fuel.

It's funny, I think Far Cry 6 was way, way too easy and mediocre compared especially to 2, but I still found the core gameplay loop of "shoot everyone in the head, forever" to be pretty fun. It's a shame that you can unlock a one shot perfect aim 4x scoped rifle like 10 minutes into the game though.

I'm honestly considering a replay with just a basic AK-47, a silenced pistol with iron sights, and an unsilenced Dragunov (all with armor piercing ammo, naturally).

Every time I went with a gimmick loadout experimenting with different weapons rather than my perfect head-popping, self-reviving, and anti-vehicle-EMP loadout, I had a lot more fun with the chaos and difficulty.

I certainly intend to replay if i am ever able to get a new video card, as I've been running in potato mode this whole time, and I think i won't go gathering chests unless I'm already in the area on a replay. Make it a bit more challenging because wouldn't have the best guns from early on.

The beginning of this game is really badly designed. You start off with pathetic plink plink level 1 guns that take 10 shots to put anything down , then as soon as you get to the main island you can spend your free 300 Ubisoftbux on a Level 4 LMG that just devastates everything in sight

Luckily I didn't know about that (the free ubi bucks and guns) until way far through the game so it didn't screw me up.

It's just a shame anyone would have to resort to this. Just make the game harder ffs. Double enemy damage and we'd already be pretty close to an acceptable diff level. Call it Hardest difficulty. What a revolutionary concept

I played some if the Vaas decided last night. It rough going at first as you have this rinky dink pistol and there's a lot of enemies. I got my poo poo pushed in a lot at first, mostly by people with flame throwers. I managed to grind up enough cash to upgrade my health and increase my healing syringes, and then I was able ti grind up the pistol to having a red dot and silencer. That let me to start headshotting people and that let me do some of the weapon challenges. Once I had the shotgun and sniper rifle I was doing pretty good. Though the rifle challenge was super hard because the enemies were bullet sponges that could take two shotgun shots to the face and keep going.

What makes it is Vaas's dialog honestly. Apparently he was a big nerd gamer, and was into PT.

Vaas DLC was alright. Ordinarily I prefer a stealthy play style which is impossible most of the time here but I had a decent time moving down enemies here. My third run blessed me with some decent gadgets including the health canister and the game kept giving me health/defense related perks to the point where I could pretty much just stand around tanking shots. I can't see myself bothering with trying the other difficulties though. Does anyone know if there's any additional story content for beating the highest difficulty?

There is only extra content for beating all 20 waves at the end of a run. Higher difficulties drop way more cash and higher tier perks so it can actually make things a bit easier to do the final waves.

Yea, I'm in the same boat. Not being able to choose mods and depending on rng is a pain to go for certain builds. I've been trying to toll up Poison ammo for the MG for hoards.

I right now have increased move speed and extra cash and I'm afraid ti do anything that might make me die so I'm just grinding to upgrade my guns and permanent skills.

But also yea I don't see any reason to replay it at a hight difficulty.

I finished Vaas, well, as much as I have any desire to. I guess I could go back in and get the Vaas chibi but doing it and getting a higher score, eh. Vaas's hair isn't enough to make me want to bother doing the whole thing in one sitting.

Though I did get enough achivement points to get the Soviet jacket in the black market store. And there is a cool helmet available as a reward too.

All the marketing around FC6 caused me to pick FC5 up when it was on sale recently. I've got to say that I find myself both liking and playing it way more than I expected.

It's solid fun sneaking around woods and sniping out outposts and random cultists, with Nick loitering overhead as a backup air support for when things end up loud and Faith's region is actually quite well done in terms of creepiness and foreshadowing of the general theme of the game.

The one thing I don't get is why do people insist on trying to piece together coherent and consistent plotlines across the games and assign meaning to the series universe.

I still think Farcry 5 is really good outside of the elder brother’s reoccurring mission. Being vague since I don’t know if you are done. Elder brother’s mission was an interesting idea and I bet it looked good on paper but it just killed the pacing and really not fun. As a whole it’s a good game and I don’t see it as pro Chud as many. Companions are great, loved the environment and enjoyed the gunplay. Again my only real gripe is that one repeating quest. Still like Pagan Min best but the Seeds and their jesus freak cultists are so much fun to kill. Felt a bit sorry for Faith but the rest deserve a flamethrower to the balls. If you finish the game try New Dawn as I thought it was a great sequel to FC5 and the Seeds.

Almost 100% with FC6 outside of the racing as the racing really irritates me. Really like everything about it but I have to admit I liked FC5 and FC4 more. Still like perks being with the character as opposed to equipment and not fond of the backpacks. Amigos are stellar but I liked some of the past human companions. Hurl and his cousin were amusing to take at the same time. Also Boomer needs to ride in my car with me. Shocked no achievement for unlocking all the amigo perks. The murder chicken gets far more tanky with that final perk but nothing compared to death kitty. Still hoping the next game chooses somewhere other than jungles as I’m bored of those. Also this game makes me realise that I have a fear of shark attacks in the open ocean. I jump every time.

It's funny: Far Cry 3, 4 and Primal (because they're mostly just reused anyway) have for my money the best first person melee kills in the genre. The takedown animations are brutal without being sadistic and fast enough they're not tedious. Whoever was in charge of them must have moved on because they essentially didn't have takedown animations at all in Far Cry 5 and in New Dawn and 6 they're just too elaborate and a fraction too long for my money.

Kind of the same with healing animations but although they're limited they're much better in 6 than 5 or New Dawn. Nothing matches the Terminator self surgery they had going in Far Cry 2.

I like how if you take too long before setting up the bombs before trying to Assassinate Castillo, Jaun just calls you and asks if you gave up, and then you can go right to the hotel. Which was good because loving hell getting to the two inside the no go zone. I spend an hour trying to figure out how to get to that section.

OKay, finished. I'll reinstall it later when I have a new video card, hopefully the Pagan and Seed DLCs will be available by then.

It was good. I did like how the ending had hope, unlike 5 (even New Dawn is great, i hated how literally everything you did ended up being pointless). Even as others said, it wasn't as hard, and most of the difficulty came from game BS like hyper rapid spawns of enemies and how frustrating Esperanza is to get around. But Yara was a great setting.

The only things i never did was find the gently caress Anton gun and the Yaran story that involved defacing the statues. At least give me some idea where they are so i don't have to search over the entire map.

Btw got Primal due to this thread’s recommendation and… I really love it. Shockingly into this game already and agreed on the takedown animations. No idea why this game has hooked me so much but feel bad I slept on this so long. Question for any who played it: do your pets grow in power the more kills they get? Liking the white Wolf but he has some trouble with low level guys already. Owl scouting and attacks are so much fun.

I'm trying to get through this gap in a cave in FC5. I can't just walk through it but if you jump you can set a line. If you try and pull yourself through you just get stuck even at the widest point. Is this a glitch? I can just fast travel away but I'm probably supposed to get through right?

That’s a decent price for it. Still playing Primal and this might be my favourite Farcry. Almost done sadly and been I have to say the Super Sabretooth is a murder machine. Between traps and him the “protect your guys from waves of opponents” have become trivial. Super Wolf is cool but compared to Captain McStripeyPants: MurderKitty Devourer of Worlds? No contest. Owl owns bones as well. Definitely coming back to this one. My one complaint about 6 is that it doesn’t suck me in like 4, 5, ND and Primal so I pop back in for Bandito missions looking for moneda but only to unlock the Modern style AK if it pops. Also I’m a millionaire in game and haven’t been able to buy anything for ages.

If any of you guys slept on Primal like I did… get it. Game is good.

How much closer to the goddamn vehicle booth do you have to get these things?

This is the second vehicle I've had a hell of a time getting to register as "brought back" so I can use them later. The other one was the military Hummvee with the MG turret at the Montero farm, it didn't even show me that it had acquired it when it finally popped, I just checked it in the phone and it showed up with the check mark all of a sudden after five minutes of shuffling the thing around the blue zone.

edit: The PSN variant of the Adjudicator doesn't even show up in the vehicle menu so now I'm wondering if they just didn't include it as a claimable vehicle.

They're a mixed bag but your enjoyment of each probably depends on what you like about Far Cry. I really only liked Hours of Darkness because I'm big on stealth and exploration. The zombie one was too much of a shooting gallery for my tastes. I don't remember much about Lost on Mars other than I didn't like it enough to bother finishing it.

Yeah… best one is Hours of Darkness and that is just decent. Rest are forgettable at best.

Finished Primal. I swear that is the happiest Farcry ending but you really loved it. Like all Farcrys it can be a bit repetitive but really enjoyed the combat and skills. Stealth isn’t as easy mode as other FC as you really need to use cover and night. I think Primal takedowns are the best: quick and done. Story is fairly straightforward but in a good way. Feels classic more than lazy. The best part? Freakin pets. Seriously loved the pet/companion system and the owl scouting system.

Pets/companions each get their own stats and some special abilities. There’s also a more rare version of the pet that slightly more buffed. The bear, for example, is a slow lumbering brute that draws all attacks (helpful for escort missions) and can take a fuckton while the cats can take dish out more damage and are fast. Certain cats auto spot enemies and jaguars can do stealth takedowns. The makers are 100% cat people as they get the best overall ability/ stat combo. Sabretooth tigers are the top tier as they scare away most rando attacking animals, murder at the drop of a hat and the fastest in game. To unlock the ultimate version of Wolf/Cave Bear/Sabretooth you do hunting quests that I found to be really fun. Warning: you might find the Ult Mammoth quest a tiny bit sad. RIP Al Stompton. Last bit on pets: you can not only ride mammoths but bears and Sabretooth tigers. So that super fast death death kitty you can ride like a pony. Better than I can possibly ever make it sound.

The owl is amazing and I hope this mechanic return one day as you can easily take the same principles (flying spotter/tagger, attacks enemies with limited resources) to a drone. Really enjoyed unlocking the upgrades for my feathered hooty bomber.

Really fun game and definitely my favourite Far Cry. It was on sale not long ago so definitely recommended. Last bit of advice: Spears are the best weapon. Buff it and how many you can toss but never underestimate just stabbing fools with it. Really thanks FC thread for talking me into trying it. Only negative is I really hate even more having all your skills attached to gear. Hope FC7 ditches that idea.

I know this isn't an original thought but I'm now convinced the best way to play both farcry and assasin's creed games is with about a 1/2 year gap between each. I might just alternate between each franchise and buy the previous years version when it goes on sale. I got fc5 and doom eternal for 20 quid.

I thought fc5 was really good fun and the setting was great. I skipped pretty much all the cut scenes so I'm not bothered about the ending (which I was reading people didn't like). I like just sneaking up on outposts and using a silenced sniper rifle.

I will play fc6 next year around this time next year. :)

I'll second this. Having a second player really makes things a lot more fun. The combat can get kinda tedious but if you set goals for yourselves (like trying to do the whole thing with stealth or use only explosive weapons, ect.) you can have some serious fun.
