I'd be fine with it, personally -- it's reasonable to want small games, but it's easy for game mechanics to really eat words. I'd even be fine with more words for the second phase as long as the delivered project still has stuff for the final writer to fill in.

Yeah, my assumption is that things can still be pretty raw. Just do what you can, and if it doesn't work out, that's okay.

Same! There's definitely stuff here that will need a rework, to the point that I could probably put a FIX THIS, AUTHOR 3 section at the end, but whatever happens, happens. Here's hoping I can finish it into a broadly acceptable form in 2.5 hours...

Yeah, that's what I'm struggling with now. I'm reading these and thinking they look pretty solid and I'm not sure what to bring to the table. (I'm guessing this isn't the time for extensive remodeling...)

In the interest of encouraging fun, creativity, and goodwill, I will be extending the contest for another week. You have until the end of next Sunday, 22 August, to get your final finished really-for-real-complete version of your game in. Formatting is not important but all other forms of content are! Also, as mentioned before, there is no word limit so if you need 2000 words to have playbooks or classes or random generation tables loving rock out.

Can those of us who already submitted take this week to get you a better version? I have, uh, a lot of post-submission regrets and would really love to be able to give it another swing.

Just got my revision in; it's probably not as extensive as it needed to be, but it addresses my major concerns with my last design. I'm not particularly pleased with it, but it's at least kinda finished, so that's good?
