Wandersong looks really annoying, it's a game where you play a bard and the main mechanic is singing, but it's fun and keeps adding cool surprises all the time. got me emotional a little

I wish dragon commander was half as fun as it sounds, cuz it has a ton of effort put into it but the dragon stuff sucks and the rts is bare bones

I dont buy games that I think Ill hate, but I expected Supraland to just be a short distraction and it ended up being the first game I 100%ed in years. e: Also Prey, which I only tried because a friend badgered me over the course of months

Rocket League and Binding of Isaac. The first is supposed to be just soccer with cars and other one is supposed to be flash zelda 1 with random edgy newgrounds toilet humor. Turns out they were heroin and cocaine. They are literally all I play.

Yeah Isaac taught me that the - to me at the time - fully absurd concept of "you lose all* progress when you die" doesn't have to mean the game is impossible to enjoy *I didn't know that you'd keep unlocking permanent upgrades, that helps a lot admittedly

Yeah whoever came up with unlocks is a genius. It kept me playing nuclear throne for ages even though it's painfully hard. Whereas a traditional roguelike like DCSS I get mad after a few failed runs and don't play it for months lol.

I was absolutely done with Kojima-wank, and I loving hate the Walking Dead so I was all set up to loathe this game, turns out its the chillest game ever and I loving love it.

SaGa games in general, but especially Unlimited SaGa. People had hyped it up as this super incomprehensible nonsense game, and...tbh it kind of is, but I was really tempted to see for myself. But I kinda got into it and understood more and more what it was going for, getting a feel for how it wanted me to play it, and my characters got better and I could follow a bit of a plan for them, and I had a lot of fun. Even the roulette wheel to select attacks (and determining chest contents etc) I got used to despite hating random stuff like that. It's weird but chill and good!

I didn't particularly expect to like Death Stranding either, and I fell off of it when it first came out just because there was so much other gaming going on at the time. Picked it back up about a week ago for PC and it's just so much fun. Demon Face pose ftw.

actually you know what i'd probably throw the MGS games into the pile of "games i want to play but am scared i wouldn't be into", mainly because nobody doesn't like MGS and if you are one of the few that do then it's basically a sin don't get me wrong, the lore is insane, the characters are memorable, i can respect kojima's craft. but i'm really not that great at stealth games and i feel like i'd play badly enough to where it would sour my experience. on the other hand it seems like it's pretty much everyone's entryway into the stealth "genre" (unless you're old enough to have been playing thief back in the day) so i'm probably just feeling Gamer Anxiety™ about the whole thing

I tried and bounced off of Witcher 3 for a couple of years because I couldn't stand the combat and paid little attention to anything else. But once I played long enough to get to the baron quest, I was hooked. I ended up really liking the characters too

I absolutely loved Witcher 2 and played the entire game at 640x480 and a locked 20fps bc anything higher would melt my laptop's built/in GPU. I couldn't read a single line of menu text bc of how blocky the letters was. I've never tried 3
