the first one that came to mind was Three Houses. i haven't played many RPGs and had played no tactical RPGs up to that point as far as i can remember, but i gave it a shot after hearing a friend who rarely games talk about how much he enjoyed it. it's now my most played game on my Switch by miles, possibly my most played game of the past couple years, and makes me want to dive further into the series once i beat all the routes.

i wouldn't say "hate," but i played through Journey this morning and went in thinking it wouldn't be my cup of tea. definitely started off slow, but i'll be damned if it didn't win me over by the end, as short as it is.
