At Hell in a Cell this year Drew landed on a crash pad that was out of frame and the camera caught a guy pushing pieces of broken table out from under the ring after so I don’t think anyone from WWE should be criticizing when those kinds of spot don’t go great from a production standpoint. Crashpads are a necessary reality now because nobody should have to take a bump like Foley did in a major promotion ever again. Both companies need to do a better job of concealing them for TV so they don’t break immersion and overshadow the rest of the match.

They’re not overusing it, especially now that Penta is paired with Kingston who is taking on most of the mic work. He’s just there as a punctuation which is prefect for group/tag stuff. Save longer promos with Alex for when Penta is doing solo work.

I think Miro is the only guy who came directly from WWE who mentioned being misused or whatever in his debut promo, which is always going to give me TNA vibes since that was their go-to. Brodie did it pretty heavily for the first part of his run before his character evolved a bit more. He started off as a Vince parody, did a promo calling out being held back and did the Sister Abigail setup in his first match. Thankfully the character grew into it’s own thing fairly quickly because it would have been kinda lovely if his last run before his death was all bitter ex-WWE ranting.

There was a bit more in the beginning like Cody smashing the HHH throne, but they’ve developed enough of their own identity now not to harp on it. If there is WWE bashing, it’s usually on podcasts after their release.
