A good chunk, if not the majority, of MLS stadiums are farther than that from the city proper. Dallas is probably the worst at 30 miles. Even for stadiums that are right in the heart of the city (Seattle, Portland, LAFC, Atlanta) 8 miles isn't close to covering the full metropolitan area. I'd say the vast majority of MLS fans have to travel considerably more than 8 miles to get to the stadium.
