Barry Bluejeans posted:

Could you please expand on that? There's few things I love more than rundowns of absolutely terrible indy shows.

Pacing felt off. Weird vibes and the crowd was hostile.

The promoter came out at the beginning and said he got an offer to be a territory in Billy Corgan's NWA but that he always liked Stone Temple Pilots more than Smashing Pumpkins. Said if he signed with NWA he'd lose too much control over things.

First match was a Loser Leaves ALW match between Jerry Swirlz and Che. Turned into a literal garbage match:

Second match was a Falls Count Somewhere match between Ripper Zbysko and El Ridiculoso. The stipulation was that the pinfall would only count in a specific part of the ring but neither competitor knew where. They figured it was somewhere outside the ring so they fought all the way up to the commentary desk. Turns out it was in the middle of the ring the whole time.

Next up was TNT vs. The Headbangers. I had no idea they were still around. They took a while to get started. Ricky Morton was originally booked for this match but he was not present and not mentioned.

Thrasher ate a cookie from the crowd, which may have been a mistake because somebody shouted it was a weed cookie.

After this match, they took an extended intermission/meet-and-greet which really threw things off. Not sure what happened there but it was awkward.

More to follow.

After a 30-minute impromptu break, the show resumed with a Hardcore Championship Scramble Match. 15 minutes, title change on every pinfall, competitors came out on a timer like a royal rumble.

Tony DeVito started out with a bad promo that the crowd hated. This one was hard to get a good view of because most of it took place between the ring and the commentary desk, which had no seating. RIP to a bunch of cookie sheets.

Tony DeVito had a temper tantrum after the match and threw a bunch of poo poo everywhere and tore down some of the entrance curtain. (No good shots of this, sadly.)

Next up was Leva Bates vs Deonna Purrazzo vs Renee Michelle somebody I didn't recognize.

Atomic Legacy Wrestling posted:

Well. Unfortunately injuries and accidents occur. I received some unfortunate news that both Renee Michelle was injured and Deonna Purrazzo received an injury at the PPV last night. We wish them both a speecy recovery. Both have reassured us once they are healed they will be back at ALW. But what does that do for tonight?? Well after 2 hours of making phone calls we found a former NXT Star that was ready for the challenge and to make her ALW debut and to fight LEVA BATES. Who is it!?? All will be revealed at the show. Thank you!

Leva Bates's current gimmick is Norman Bates. She comes to the ring dressed in a granny wig, which she puts on in order to turn evil.

Next up (and last for me) was Ryzin vs Jay Synn in a 2/3 falls match. First fall strap, second fall submission, third fall Christmas presents.

Legos for Christmas

Baseball bat for Christmas

Bed of nails for Christmas

I left after this match. They did another intermission and I wanted food.

Interesting show overall, not great but there were some moments.

Amazed at what looks good and what doesn’t, like the shittiest looking shows I’ve been to this year are the ones that stream to fite dot tv.

The one yesterday with awesome stage lighting and incredible ringwork? might be on youtube in a month or so.

Small time promotion out of Sanford that doesn’t post videos and barely has an instagram account? loving incredible, here is a gift for you and your camera

National indie promotion (GCW) that employs a who’s who of unsigned talent? gently caress making this school gym look good in any way on camera, just use the overhead fluorescents and make sure to rent the ring canvas that has a hole in it covered in duct tape
