Conor was going to get knocked unconscious again in the second round if he had made it there, the first one to shoot/look to grapple "like a dusty bitch" was Conor and his vaunted boxing was the second best in the octagon. There's absolutely no need to see a fourth fight between these two. Conor is overmatched entirely.

Travis Fulton, the dude with over 300 fights, hung himself in jail apparently. B-league thread or whatever, I know I know. He was in for child porn so don't feel too bad about it.

I'll always be disappointed that Conor knocked Aldo out cold with the first punch instead of it being an actual nitty gritty fight. Aldo was a monster, and in another universe, that fight's a barnburner that Aldo could have definitely won. Conor was legitimately great at his best and his performance against Alvarez was among the best performances in UFC history. He's past his prime now and spent most of it chasing Mayweather, more money and trying to fight Pacquiao, who unless Pacquiao suddenly aged 30 years in the ring, Conor wouldn't seriously touch and would end up like Ricky Hatton in the centre of the ring. He's not "was always bad", by any means. He's just not elite anymore.

One of the greatest boxers of all time being able to fight offensively? Sounds like bullshit to me tbh.

Rousey says Conor was in the right to have a meltdown in his post fight interview. Conor thanked her. From one worthless human and complete has been to another.

"Conor did so much for the sport", but really, his rise in the UFC directly correlates with Reebok deal robbing fighters, the final farewell of the pretense that the UFC is a meritocratic and that the best fighters get chances, and despite massive increases in revenue, has resulted in a rise in fighter pay for the following fighters: C. McGregor At the same time, he's gone around breaking the law in basically all of the most disgusting ways except murder, directly injured other fighters with tinpot gangster level violence against them. All he needs to do is pop for steroids and have it go public instead of it being swept under the rug and he's hit the "scummy MMA fighter who will end up murdered in prison" bingo. Conor's impact on MMA is huge, but how much of that is actually a positive in any way whatsoever, outside of it getting Dustin Poirier's charity paid?

It was stupid of Yan and he should have known the rules to not throw it. But I'm also not going to say that a Russian person who isn't a native English speaker (I don't know how much verbal English Yan understands) in the heat of the moment and 19 minutes deep into a championship fight is going to have as good of a grasp on the rules as a native speaker would in that situation, so his failure to initially understand why it was a foul and anything they went over back stage might not have had sunk in as well. Sterling sucks and the fact he acts like a champ is embarrasing for him.

Weidman really ought to commit to retiring if his leg isn't healing right. A shame for him. I don't like him as a fighter but he deserves better. Fingers crossed that Conor's doesn't heal right. gently caress Conor.
