Hatsune Miku is the face of possibly the largest collaborative artistic movement in the world of music. Going strong since 2007, the countless collaborators who create songs, illustrations, and videos are fans who want to be part of something they love and value: a unique indie scene. And with that, we have an introduction for what I hope will be an active thread of people posting cool new music and art they just found, or to talk about the fun videogames, or discussing live concerts, or reminiscence about their favorite classics. My favorite miku song has pretty much always been Unfragment. It's not exactly "singing" as such, but I've found this artist (band?) a few months ago and their jazz/lounge sets are excellent easy listening. Dune(AKA "Sand Planet") by Hachi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS4q9yaWJkI For those unaware, Hachi is now better known as singer/songwriter/fashion icon Yonezu Kenshi, king of the charts in Japan. Originally started out as a vocaloid producer around the age of SIXTEEN and hit it big with Matryoshka, among other classics. Hung up the ol' Miku and picked up the Mic in 2012 with the debut album Diorama under his real name, came back a few years later for Donut Hole, and then a few years again after that with Dune. The feeling was wild when both of those dropped. Kenshi Yonezu is my literal favorite artist and his work as hachi is some of my favorite Vocaloid stuff so you’re in good company. (Even if I fundamentally disagree with his thesis in Sand Planet.)

It's not really Vocaloid related necessarily, but if we're already on the topic of early days Vocaloid producers and Utaite who've made it big after breaking out of the Vocaloid world, I think it's okay to mention Eve. All of his songs are fantastic, and many have cool animated MVs. Some of my favorites: As You Like It How To Eat Life The Secret About That Girl Nonsense Literature Dramaturgy - IMO his best song.
