I believe that Dustin has enough integrity and is finished enough with Conor that he won't sign to fight him again, or at least that he'll put terms on the fight that the UFC and Conor won't accept.

Dustin has tons of other great fights to sign, and he can make plenty of money without putting his family through that kind of poo poo again for the sake of proving a point that he has already proven. And consider that Conor will make more money off of a hypothetical rematch than Dustin will.

Marching Powder posted:

hang on, what?

Conor McGregor signed on to do some boat tour with a literal Princess of Monaco, starting in Greece and going all the way to Ireland or some poo poo - a big charity thing. For like 2 months before it started he was tweeting about it and various water safety-related poo poo and news stories quite regularly. Stuff like quote tweeting a BBC news story about girls getting disoriented near the Isle of Wight with like "and this is why it's always important to bring good GPS and radios when going out on the water."

And then the night before they were set to start the tour he got arrested for pulling his tocker out on some Aegean resort island and the tour was cancelled.

It's hard to say re: Hardy. From what I've seen over the years fighters are more likely to get demoralized by the kind of beating Tybura gave him - which was sustained and painful and several minutes of horrible, breathless suffering - than what Tuivasa did - which was instantaneous and probably entirely painless, and came when Hardy thought he was winning.

So if the UFC thinks they can make more money from promoting Hardy than from a random bottom-quartile heavyweight like Parker Porter or Carlos Felipe, and Hardy wants to keep fighting, he'll stick around.

Hardy vs tuivasa was what happens when a guy who likes to beat people up meets a guy who likes to fight
