I recently paid off a big balance on one of my cards, and once the statement posted I checked Mint and saw my credit score go up by 30 points (because suddenly my credit utilization was much lower). Then, two weeks later I got another notice that my credit score had gone up another 12 points. I had no idea why, and after a lot of poking around I finally figured out that one of my other credit cards had increased my limit by a few thousand dollars (without even asking me), thus lowering my total credit utilization even further.

Credit it a very, very, very weird game.

yeah they want your utilization low but not zero, it’s very silly.

an acquaintance of mine was dating the points guy for a while and then the points guy dumped him and said he didn’t love him anymore because he couldn’t stop being “a whiney bottom”

he was right on that, so I trust his credit card points tips too

to be fair he was also worried about his boyfriend quitting a stable job as an analyst at morgan stanley to be a credit card points blogger but the points guy definitely proved that you can do that and never worry about money again.

that was a lot of arguments as far as i remember.

they were dating in like 2007.

anyway I recommend the points guy dot com because he dumped the ex mrs kwinkles’s friend in 2007 for being a whiney bottom.

banks are begging people to take out loans and run up credit card debt right now. almost all lending standards are at all time lows.

yeah I am refinancing this place and they have literally waived the appraisal. just not gonna check that it’s even still here or check that it doesn’t have a meth lab in it.
