“We’re back! A bit older and a lot grayer, but definitely not the wiser. Catch the Jackass Forever trailer debut online Tuesday, July 20, follow our new Instagram @jackass, and we’ll see y’all on Oct 22.”

Jackass Forever is the upcoming fourth entry in the Jackass film series, spawned from the hit TV show Jackass. I probably don’t need to explain what Jackass is, so I won’t. They’re coming at us with presumably one last swan song for the road.

Are you ready to watch geriatric dudes kick each other in the dick? I sure am. The Jackass movies entail some of the funniest and most memorable movie-going experiences I have. I’m talking dry heaving from laughter for minutes on end with a group of other people cringing and laughing in unison. The show hit at the right time in my formative years and I’ve been following these dufuses ever since on their endeavors to shock and amaze us with their antics.

I think the appeal for me, more than the over the top stunts and scatalogical gross out attempts, is the camaraderie of the gang as they punk on each other and, occasionally, the unsuspecting public. Their revelry and joint laughter in the absolutely stupid and absurd hijinks they pull around each other over the years is infectious. Endearing, even.

As noted above in the social media blurb, there’s a trailer coming this month.

No, Bam Margera is not in the movie.

Let’s post and reminisce about some of our favorite Jackass stunts, pranks, and moments as we await one final curtain call from the gang.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture is a boring movie
We Hate Movies did a commentary on Jackass recently, so that got me down a Jackass rabbit hole. The movies are all great. Jackass 3D is, in all seriousness, the only movie I've seen that really used the 3D technology to its potential. My sides hurt from laughing when I watched them last week.

Bad Grandpa is really good too. It actually has a touching story and the jackass stunts are great. The child beauty pageant is so loving good. They trolled all those awful parents and they deserved it.

It’s far from the most outrageous or even funniest bit, but The Valentine in Jackass Number 2 perfectly encapsulates why I love this poo poo.

https://youtu.be/1q5DkiHxuEM

It’s so simple in concept and execution, but the hilarity of it is contagious. The second or two Ryan takes to realize what happened before falling over laughing, followed by Bam absolutely losing his poo poo as Wee-Man stands on the chair was incredible.

“You got bursitis?”

“Yeah”

“So that means you gotta play with a horn?”

Some of the best stuff they did was where the joke was already funny enough but Knoxville just keeps going. This too:

Bam's back on hard drugs and drinking heavily and has told all his friends he'd rather die than go to rehab again. One of Knoxville's conditions for doing the fourth movie was that they keep a clean set, since, for example, Steve-O has been sober for far longer than anyone honestly expected and he didn't want to have Steve-O subjected to a bunch of drugging like the previous movie sets had been. Bam was interested in doing the new movie and was actually on set for a week or two, but he was tremendously hosed-up the entire time and Knoxville fired him.

God drat its gunna be hard to watch this without Ryan.

Me and my friends grew up watching the CKY proto-Jackass movies off of VHS tapes even before Jackass premiered as they used to sell them at our local skate shop. Cannot wait to be back with these bozos.

If you're a fan of Jackass and have never seen any of the CKY movies I highly reccomend at least giving CKY2K a shot. Theres some absolutely hilarious bits in it that still hold up.

Bam also threatened the director and got a 3 year restraining order slapped on him.

I don't think there's a single skit they ever did that I didn't like. It's going to be a treat to see how they handle these kinds of stunts in their 50's.

Shame about Bam though. Good on the rest for staying sober, but it's going to be tough not to take pain killers given the nature of their work.

I hope they've had enough time to think up some really great poo poo. I feel like 1 and 3 are kinda forgettable overall. Limo bees is the absolute loving best to me. Not too harmful but still loving hilarious, and whoever thought up the marbles is a genius. I hated steve-o for the longest time because it seemed like he was always doing the extremely gross/painful poo poo, but I'm proud of the dude now.

Also gently caress bam. I remember reading at some point that april told ryan he was going to die in a car crash, and he corrected her that it would be a fiery car crash. If true gently caress that guy too. He also almost killed himself and her kids in a wreck previously.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who finds that bit incredibly funny. It's a perfect Jackass bit: nobody gets seriously injured (unless you're sympathetic to the plight of food trays), the payoff is funny as hell, and it's hard for idiot kids to emulate.

My GF doesn't like the Jackass films (mainly because they're so violent), and even she finds the bit hilarious.

Also a huge fan of Knoxville vs Butterbean.

Reminder: these guys were nearly part of SNL. Two offers were on the table the MTV one, but also SNL was going to air their stunts weekly.

I love talking Jackass. Especially the movies. I really find them to be art in their own way. From concepts to how they're shot, and by the 3rd they're incorporating new technology. I've actually never seen it in 3D, I don't think I've seen an actual BD-3D for it. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

That being said, I do feel for Bam a little. He probably has just an insane amount of head trauma from his MTV years, and then beyond. To say nothing of being a young guy thrust into fame and have it mixed with the drugs and booze that was normalized during Jackass and his show.

He was a part of that brand and that team, and to my knowledge, he's the only one involuntarily excommunicated. I totally get why and I don't blame them, because he's really far gone. But it's just sad because he's on the outside looking in and it's probably really hard for him to understand what he did with his warped worldview.

I look forward to this being the first Jackass I see in theaters. I still remember watching the first on DVD w/ my friends in April 2003. I never laughed so hard. The golf course foghorn had me doubled over in tears. A memory that will live on for me. Jackass rules.

I also love them spazzing out like weirdos in the background while he creeps forward in terror. To me, Jackass is best when they're just abusing the hell out of each other and cackling like mad idiots. And the worst, ie the bits I always skip, are the ones where they are just harassing regular people in public. More stunts and abuse, less weirdos in public. And I will never stop laughing at the high five. Also, the opening to the second movie is a masterpiece.

Man, this is reminding me that there was no legal way to watch the Jackass TV show in Canada in the early-00s. I remember us all watching cKy, but until the film, as far as I remember, Jackass never aired.

Also, the great thing about Jackass is that the cast is great. I remember trying to watch other stunt shows, like the Dudesons, and it just lacks what Jackass has.

Wildboyz with Steve O and Chris Pontius was spotty but kind of sweet that they really made a conscious decision to not harm animals or disrespect the locals in the countries they visited. And got hurt by a lot of animals. Unfortunately only on Prime and Apple TV for $
