After giving it a think, I'm fine with that finish for the elimination tag.

Because the story is this - Hangman gets to number 1, calls out Kenny for a match and Kenny ducks him, stacks the odds in his favor, and has to cheat his rear end off to win. Hangman doesn't just go away - he will continue to dog Kenny.

Now this is contingent of course of Hangman being the one who beats Kenny for the belt. If he ends up not being the one then I won't like this angle so much. It'll have a stink to it like when Booker T was jobbed out so Goldberg could win the title later.

It doesn't hurt that it was a drat good match.

Also part of the story here is that Hangman only lost his title shot because he was willing to gamble it to try and get one for his friends as well.

Also that when outnumbered three to one he still kicked out of a ton of stuff that usually ends a match, including a belt shot

Correct. Also I have been skeptical in the past and AEW laid my fears to rest so I'm gonna bet on them pulling this out and making it great.

You know what is taking some getting used to? Multi month builds to PPVs. I'm so used to, even from back in the day, a month long build to the next show. So it makes sense to have road bumps.

While watching the match I kept pulling a pillow infront of my face while my wife clutched onto my arms and hid her face. Did its job as a deathmatch as far as I'm concerned.

Not seeing much thoughts about FTR and PNP. Honestly expected PNP to win.

You know why else I can't be mad at the ending of the elimination tag? Because the people who won are like the 3 greatest wrestlers alive today. I love Page. Love him. But I won't ever deny that I got into AEW because of the Bucks and Kenny. And they have only gotten better. They are the best kind of heels. I have legit heat with them but they also put on amazing matches.

I love the little touch to show you just where Kenny is in his title run - his still shot for his match promos has him clutching his belt. He is DESPERATE not to face Hangman for the title in a one on one match.

I think the Christian match happens before the PPV and they still go with Hangman. Another reason this loss is different for Hangman - all his big hangups were loses he just lost legit. Jericho, FTR, Omega in the finals. They were just better than him. Tonight was he got hosed over by the uber cheaters.

But all the pieces are there. The Dark Order can stop and and all Elite cheating if that's how you decide to book it. AEW isn't a company that just swerves for swervings sake. And I don't think the keep heating this angle up this long without paying it off at the next ppv.

its great that BBT can have hangman lose and have everyone all deflated and worried and sad for their favorite guy who is still going to go beat up kenny omega one on one, but for like a week we will believe that that is not exactly what will happen

he's p good at this

He's gotten me before. Whenever he does something unexpected and I'm like oh I guess he's just dropping this or I think it's gonna be shuffled down - its trajectory is made quite clear by the next show. I think there is a 0 chance we don't see something to move the story forward next week.

Because come on, if Hangman isn't fighting Kenny at the next ppv what on earth do they do with him?
