But yes, a lot of the geography here happens either because A Successor Did It or as a result of the Great Collapse. Everywhere we're headed used to be part of the same city, which conveniently allowed the artists to reuse a bunch of assets from zone to zone.

I actually picked this up during the Steam Winter Sale thanks to this LP! Of course, I'm horrible at it right now. The closest thing to a Soulslike that I've successfully completed was Remnant: From the Ashes, and that's more of a third-person shooter, so I'm basically flailing around whenever it comes to melee combat. I need to learn when to block, when to dodge, and when to punish. I'm still early but I have a couple extra blood codes, but right now I'm sticking with Fighter until I can wrap my head around combat and not die horribly.

The Cathedral of identical ivory lace bridges is in fact terrible. It happens all the the time, someone goes "I will redeem maze levels, water levels, escort quests and more!" and in the end, they don't. (Also good job surviving retail.) As much as I want to watch this I don't want to be spoiled for the rest of my playthrough. I'm at the big flashback sequence. Jack is a powerful ally and I respect his fighting ability. Navigating the Cathedral isn't that bad if you remember to always look down. The verticality in this game's maps hides a lot of area to explore. It's kind of ingeneous for this type of game.

I used the Blazing Claw sword for the entire remainder of the game because it looks awesome. My friend was jealous since he always used two-handers, although he eventually got to have a cool looking sword of his own from a different boss drop. One element being more useful than all the others (as well as the opposite of one element being worse than all the others) is something that bothers me, but which I accept since it is difficult to balance an entire game to prevent that from happening. I usually try and stick with the element I like most and simply power through the areas of a game where it isn't any good. Alternatively, I will just avoid elemental attacks altogether because I don't want to be constantly re-forging weapons or swapping equipment loadouts/skill trees just to take advantage of minor damage bumps.

It's time for a third music post! March of the Lost stands out even amongst Code Vein's classical-inspired soundtrack. It only appears for one half of one boss, and for the life of me it sounds familiar but I can't be certain of what it sounds most like. I suppose it resembles Rossini's overture to The Barber of Seville? (Which he copied from two earlier operas because the man was a composing machine.) My father thought it might take inspiration from Funiculì, Funiculà.  Return of the Knight, the "original" version of the track, is Nicola's theme as the Successor of the Breath. It's more, er, conventionally orchestral than its variant. After all, by this time the Successor of Blood isn't getting warmed up - they're halfway through their journey! Towards the Eternal Glory (Gilded Hunter/Miguel Garcia) and Towards the Eternal Glory -Fury- (Successor of the Claw/Emily Su) are both elaborations of Yakumo's leitmotif we first heard back in the Howling Pit. The former is like a folk dance, and it well matches the Gilded Hunter's grace as a boss. This is complemented by the latter, which begins with the high energy from the former's end and dials it up even further. After all, a successor is more dangerous than a hollowed-out puppet of Mido's. Requiem -Peace & Light- is the final version of Requiem we'll hear. No longer do we hear Eva Roux's singing to quiet the relics; instead this church choir is the voice of the Successor of the Throat themself. If you don't slow walk all the way up the first time in a playthrough I will call you callous.  (I can make exceptions for corpse runs.)As with Requiem, All of You and All of You -English version- are two sides of the same song by Eva's two voice actresses. But unlike that, All of You is a more personal song, from Eva to Jack. She's not trying to calm the melancholy of such mighty things as the relics, but just one man, her partner and lover.

 Depths 4 Apologies to NGDBSS for holding this for like, a month. Also apologies for the audio in this one, I do autoduck but for whatever reason this video adobe decided instead of having the volume stay at its normal level and lowering it, you know ducking the audio down, when I talk, instead it kept the audio at the normal when I talked and then boosted it 10 db when I wasn't talking. So no autoducking this go around!

I BS'd my way to completion with the best ending! It was an eye-opening experience, mostly a positive one once I learned how to fight effectively. I could see myself improving with time against most things. Bosses though. . . most of my boss victories came from my companion doing most of the work while I scrambled to stabilize and find an opening. So many attacks that required pixel-perfect dodging. I can't say I improved on that front much. I picked up Nioh on the PS4 on sale a while back, so hopefully I'll go into that with the right mindset after this.

Its been a bit, most of the reason for delays was that I was unemployed and just stayed up as long as I could which meant I would be sleeping when its time to get together for commentary. Then I got a job that requires me to hold such a sleeping schedule

It wasn't the one where there is a face full of cat-girl rear end or Eliza's giant tits or anything, it was a cutscene where a tree falls over in the forest and we see two characters running. Provisional Government 2 I uh... I swear the bit at the start where I said "Unless I hold onto this commentary for a while" wasn't something I planned on doing. A mix of the full time job as well as interest in a new creative outlet taking up my free time kinda killed my editing time. But we're almost there, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Code Vein [27]: Gaol of the Stagnant Blood And here we are, the beautiful end, my friend. I'd like to thank my cohosts who sat shotgun during this ride, especially dealing with my awful scheduling. There is still alternate endings and the DLC depths maps but I have to call it an indefinite hiatus. I work graveyard, I live in a house with 3 other adults and a child who is utterly incapable of not stomping around the house which means I need to keep a large window for me to sleep. I only get 2 hours before work and 2 hours after work of freedom, and its really hard to justify editing during that time. And then my days off I want squeeze out as much fun as I can before I have to go back to the grind. I'm trying to see if I can get an extra day off from work... or try getting a job where I can go back to having a normal sleeping schedule. Until then though, I can't see myself working up the effort to get back to LP'ing consistently. Sorry for having the final video having a rant
