10. Game of Thrones (HBO)
The highs is just higher than the lows. Blackwater for example is one of the few instances of someone making a huge battle work on television. And the first season is just perfect, right down to the ending where it's revealed that this truly is a fantasy show.

9. True Detective (HBO)
The first season is a stone cold classic, the second one...tried and the third one almost matches the first one.

8. Dark Chrystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix)
Because someone not only made a puppet show but made really good puppet show.

7. Black Mirror (Channel 4/Netflix)
Because Brooker is so good at showing how cruel we can be to each other and for making a choose your own adventure episode just to show off how good he is.

6. Last Week Tonight With John Oliver (HBO)
Because sometimes it's good to have someone point out that this poo poo isn't normal and sometimes making a funny song about it.

5. Veep (HBO)
Because it's so sharply written that I'm surprised the cast wasn't covered in band aids. And because it refuses to let us have any sympathy for the characters.

4. BoJack Horseman (Netflix)
A clever show, almost too clever for it's own good. It always narrowly escaped disappearing up it's own rear end. And like Veep it allows it's characters to do horrible things and not learn from them.

3. Breaking Bad (AMC)
Another show about a horrible character. Unlike the other shows it tricks you into having sympathy for Walter White before slowly revealing that he didn't break bad, he was always bad.

2. Chernobyl (HBO)
It did a really good job at showing how badly things can go if you keep lying to yourself. It was also expertly filmed, written and acted.

1. Mad Men (AMC)
Because it's one of the few show that started great and kept on being great. Not a singel bad season and even managed to have a great last episode which is really rare when it comes to tv shows.
