Emi Sakura has decided to go to America to work in AEW for an indefinite amount of time. Her extended excursion will leave the promotion she founded Gatoh Move/ChocoPro without its head trainer and booker for the first time. The promotion will still continue to operate under the guidance of Emi's right hand man, Masahiro Takanashi, her current star pupil and co-trainer, Mei Suruga, and its English language co-ordinator/web producer, Baliyan Akki, with Emi keeping her hand in things through long distance communication.

To celebrate her departure, the final two shows before she leaves are a big celebration of ChocoPro featuring new match ups and all of the promotion's regular performers.

ChocoPro 143
Date: 7th of August (Japan)
Time: 10am (JST) / 2am (BST) / 6pm (PDT) / 9pm (EDT)

Stream Day 1 for free: HERE

1st Match

Masahiro Takanashi vs Yuna Mizumori vs Sayuri
A three way dance between three generations of ChocoPro/Gatoh Move. Takanshi has been with the promotion since Emi split from the first promotion she founded, Ice Ribbon, and travelled with her to Thailand to found Gatoh Move there. Yunamon was called up from Emi's free women's wrestling training for exercise and entertainment program, DareJyo, to the promotion in 2018 constituting, along with Mei Suruga, the 3rd generation of Gatoh Move wrestlers. While the 3rd Generation were called up for their excellent wrestling ability, the 4th generation, represented in this match by the ninja, Sayuri, are a mixed bag of unlikely wrestlers plucked from DareJyo because Riho, the cornerstone of pre-2019 Gatoh Move, had moved to AEW.

2nd Match

Lulupencil vs Chie Koishikawa
Two of the most unlikely stars of Gatoh Move's 4th generation face off in a singles match for the very first time. Lulupencil is primarily a freelance writer for nerd publications with no particular athletic ability to speak of, who has managed to become the focal point of ChocoPro's best and most engaging matches/storylines. Chie had the reputation for being the 4th generation's least confident wrestler but over the course of her time in ChocoPro has developed into a demon for speed and aggression earning her fan favourite status all over the internet. There are only two singles matches this weekend so it's a big vote of confidence from Emi to put these two together and to have Lulu in both.

Main Event

Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) vs. Minoru Fujita & Choun Shiryu
The uniting theme of the weekend's main events is Gatoh Move's veterans going up against ChocoPro's most dominant tag team. Best Bros is undoubtedly composed of the best of ChocoPro's home grown talent, Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki, and have been on an undefeated streak approaching a year long. Minorou Fujita and Choun Shiryu are Gatoh Move stalwarts with friendships with Emi Sakura stretching back decades. Minorou Fujita is particularly accomplished as a Death Match wrestler which makes his regular appearances in ChocoPro endearing. If there's one match to watch on this day's card it's this one as Best Bros always go absolutely all out no matter the competition.

ChocoPro 144
Date: 8th of August (Japan)
Time: 10am (JST) / 2am (BST) / 6pm (PDT) / 9pm (EDT)

Stream Day 2 for free: HERE

1st Match

Tokiko Kirihara & Sayaka vs. Sayuri & Choun Shiryu
The 4th generation's lesser lights get a showcase tag. Sayuri and Choun are a fun martial arts themed tag team. Sayaka is a good rookie wrestler who doesn't have a defined gimmick at the moment, she's a cosplayer and gamer who works for Minoru Suzuki. Tokiko, also known as Ottoki, is growing as performer finally starting to ditch her Super Rookie gimmick which centred around her being over 40 and more athletically experienced and adept than others in the 4th gen, she's very snug and is part of a weird as hell tag team with Antonio Honda.

2nd Match

Antonio Honda & Chris Brookes vs. Egg Tart (Chie Koishikawa & Hagane Shinno)
This should be a great match! Egg Tart has a great opposite attracts chemistry with Chie being energetic and out of control aggressive while Hagane is as calm as a still lake stiff shooter. Antonio and Brookes regularly tag team in DDT and are both regular guests in Gatoh Move/Choco Pro usually having very entertaining matches. Brookes seems to be gearing up for a series with Chie as his next move after his legendary feud with Lulupencil.

3rd Match

Lulupencil vs Minoru Fujita
Who knows what this match is going to be like. Lulu and Fujita are typically allies in the Pencil Army and there's been no build towards hostility so it's likely that once again Lulu feels the need to prove herself. Unfortunately, Fujita is current singles title holder for ChocoPro and has just come off a barnburner match for the title with Hagane. Hopefully Lulu demands that this match be a title match.

Main Event

Best Bros. (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) vs. Hyakkin Thunders (Emi Sakura & Masahiro Takanashi)
This is Emi's farewell match and passing of the torch. Best Bros have been on a absolutely dominant run through the entire company as tag team champions with only one tag team they haven't defeated, the very first Super Asia Tag Team champions Hyakkin Thunders. A personal dream match for Mei Suruga, this might be the biggest Master vs. Student match ever for a promoter and promotion that revels in them.

Both event will be live streamed for FREE on Gatoh Move's Youtube

Day 1 will be streamed HERE

Day 2 will be streamed HERE

First Time Bout: Heart against Agility!

Lulu Pencil, Leader of the Pencil Army VS ”Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa

How is it possible that we have made it this far into ChocoPro without ever having Chie vs Lulu in a singles match!? Because Emi Sakura's booking is next level! With how much each one of these members of the Fourth Generation have progressed this season alone, this one should be fantastic. How will these two close friends match up when alone? Lulu Pencil has overcome the trials of the Pencil War, gaining the respect of Chris Brookes and proving that she really is a professional wrestler. Strength in weakness. Lulu finds a way! Chie Koishikawa meanwhile continues her ascent to the top with stellar matches and an undeniable spark of greatness. How can this speed star (Thank you, Yoshino, enjoy your retirement!) keep finding new ways to catch your eye, new ways to take down her foes? Can the General take down the Frantic Fencer and score her first singles victory? Or will Unbreakable Lulu find that Chie does indeed have Too Much Energy?

Triple Threat! Who comes out on top?

”Drunken Brawler” Masahiro Takanashi VS ”Tropical” Yuna “Yunamon” Mizumori VS ”Crimson Kunoichi” Sayuri

What a triple threat match! Masa Takanashi has had quite the return this Season, putting out one of the best main events in the series at his Special “I Only Live Twice” show! This counter fighter has a unique sway to the way he moves, which often leads to his opponents being caught off guard by his slick technical ability. It's so great to have him in action once again! Tropical Idol Yunamon wowed us all in the Tag League (winning it along side SAKI in TropiKawaild!) and has been making her mark in other promotions as well! She battled long time rival & friend Yuna Manase in the Best of the Super Chubbies Finals! GanPro is wild, man. Watch out for that crisp Lariat! Sayuri will have to dig deep into her ninja tactics in order to overcome these two. The Crimson Kunoichi has a jutsu for just about every situation, and this tough task should be no different! Can the Bodyslam enthusiast pull off a stealthy win against a counter master and a super powerhouse? Who will stand tall at the end? I love ChocoPro three way matches, this should be a lot of fun.

Champs against Pillars!

Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) VS Minoru Fujita & Chon Shiryu

The Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) have been the Asia Dream Tag Champions for a long time! With each Belt Day that passes, their dominance (and their hubris) grows! Is anyone able to stop these two elite level tag experts? “Big Apple” Mei Suruga tends to be the one who seals the deal, one way or another...This Pin Specialist and Submission Lover will find away to put their foes down, every single time (Even if it requires her being Royal Dolphin Pressed upon them)! The Ace of ChocoPro, Akki, manages to keep a cool head unlike his fiery partner, delivering breezy strike combos and showing why he is such a perfect all-arounder: will he perform an aerial feat? Will he wrap them in that brutal Akki Lock? These two on their own are deadly, but together they're a universal threat. While their dream opponents await them in the next episode, this time they'll be facing a more than adequate pairing: two of the pillars!

Minoru Fujita & Chon Shiryu
are both coming off of one of their busiest seasons, thanks to the Tag League. The Principal & the Dragon are both long time Veterans, both have helped lift Gatoh Move & ChocoPro to the heights it currently reaches (and those it will in the future!). Fujita is a bird loving death machine, having recently defended the Big Blue Belt (the Super Asia Championship) against Hagane Shinno (inventor of the Ranhei, Kofi Kingston's SOS) for Sixty Minutes! His seemingly endless endurance and ability to bust out exploders, lariats, and dropkicks without end is frightening. Shiryu is a Kung Fu Specialist, the artful style of combat making all of his moves eye catching variants of what you are used to. From shockingly fast heavy striking, to soaring through the air on delayed kicks, to vicious window based knee drops, Chon Shiryu is somehow even more deadly in the environment of Ichigaya. These two living legends, just like the Best Bros, are major threats on their own. While the Bros might have the advantage from synergy, don't write this combination off! This will not be a walk in the park.

It is almost time to say goodbye to Emi, for now. ESG Forever!

ChocoPro #143

The season finale of ChocoPro season 8 is fast approaching and it doesn’t look as though Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling is letting up on the proverbial gas pedal. It was recently announced that, following the season finale, Gatoh Move’s Founder, Emi Sakura, will be taking a temporary leave for America. For the first time since December of 2019, she will rock the world of All Elite Wrestling. Before the ChocoPro crew sends off their fearless leader, there are still two shows left to go. One of those shows, ChocoPro #143, looks to be nothing short of promising. Here’s what to know.

Masahiro Takanashi vs. Yuna Mizumori vs. Sayuri

On ChocoPro #143, Yuna Mizumori will make her return to Ichigaya Chocolate Square in three-way action. Her last ChocoPro match took place on episode #136 last month. Having won the One of a Kind Tag League alongside SAKI, TropiKawaild challenged Asia Dream Tag Team Champions Best Bros in a losing effort. Since then, “Yunamon” has been largely absent from competition in the familiar venue. Earlier this month, Mizumori worked a show for DDT Pro, where she fell to Yuna Manase. On ChocoPro #143, Mizumori squares off against Gatoh Move’s “Kunoichi,” Sayuri, and the man that “Only Lives Twice,” Masahiro Takanashi. Though it’s fair to expect “The Pineapple Girl” to get the win in her big return, one should count neither Sayuri nor Takanashi out of the equation.

Chie Koishikawa vs. Lulu Pencil

In a first-time singles encounter, on ChocoPro #143, “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa will square off with Pencil Army‘s commanding officer, Lulu Pencil. Given the number of occasions Koishikawa and Lulu Pencil battled in tag team competition, it’s surprising to know that they never had a one-on-one encounter. Nonetheless, this is an intriguing one based on the personalities and approaches of the fighters involved. While Koishikawa’s boundless energy makes her difficult to keep down for long, her excitable demeanor tends to leave her open to her opponent’s offense. Meanwhile, though physically weaker than most of her contemporaries, Lulu Pencil boasts a cerebral approach that, while unusual on the surface, has shown that she’s more than what she seems. Will Koishikawa break the seemingly “unbreakable” Lulu Pencil or will the Pencil Army leader secure her first official singles victory?

Best Bros (Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki) vs. Minoru Fujita and Chon Shiryu (ChocoPro Main Event)

The main event of ChocoPro #143 sees the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions in a non-title contest. Best Bros, the reigning champions known as Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki, will battle the veteran duo of Minoru Fujita and Chon Shiryu. The dominance of Best Bros can’t be understated. From tag league winners to veteran wrestlers, Best Bros have tackled, and largely overcome, numerous challenges. As fighting champions, “Mei-chan” and the self-proclaimed ChocoPro “Ace” have been itching for new challengers. Their ChocoPro #143 opponents should prove to be more than formidable.

Shiryu’s expertise in martial arts makes him one of the most lethal opponents to step foot in Ichigaya Chocolate Square. Furthermore, by teaming with Sayuri to form Dragon Ninja, he’s been able to pass down his knowledge to the young Gatoh Move star. Meanwhile, Fujita stands as the reigning Super Asia Champion, having recently defended the title against Hagane Shinnou on episode #141. Though Fujita successfully defended the title against his younger opponent, he did so following an hour-long draw. One can make the assumption that the bearer of Gatoh Move’s blue belt will be looking to balance the ledger on ChocoPro #143. Expect this main event encounter to be nothing short of competitive.
