Othello returns! Dragon Ninja appear in a flash!

Othello (Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara & Sayaka) VS Dragon Ninja (Sayuri & Chon Shiryu)

Othello was named as such due to the color of the team's gear! The Super Rookie Otoki wears primarily Black and Cosplayer & Monster Slayer Sayaka wears primarily white! (Othello is an old board game, look it up!) This rare combination actually shows quite a bit of chemistry, the two of them proving that you should keep an eye on all of the Fourth Generation!. Tokiko Kirihara stands out from the rest of the said generation because she's such a straight forward fighter! “Comaneci” Otoki is a far more realistic (and brutal) combatant than many that attend Ichigaya. With her talent in Judo and Kickboxing, it is best not to take her lightly! The bearer of ChocoPro's most impressive Six-Pack is definitely on the rise. Sayaka on the other hand is the most recent of the 4th Gen to join ChocoPro. While she had more time away than the rest, you wouldn't know it from her warm charisma and pinpoint dropkicks! She has developed her own pinning combination and submission, both of which are quite flashy! It is very exciting to see Sayaka in play now, since a lot of her story is yet to be written! Othello is actually one of my favorite pairings in Ichigaya, I think this team has a lot of potential. Good Luck, Othello!

DRAGON NINJA had a rough time in the Tag League. Sometimes it isn't about winning, but proving yourselves! This pairing is like an fantastic action movie come to life: the Crimson Kunoichi (female ninja) of the Fourth Generation Sayuri and the Kung Fu Specialist Chon Shiryu! They are a stylish force to be reckoned with! Sayuri is able to perform tactical Jutsu's, vanishing and even running across the wall! She has finally hit her legendary bodyslam, and the sky is the limit for this red clad ninja. Sayuri is one to watch...she made a big impression in the Tag League, even if the team didn't claim it! Chon's artful offense is both beautiful and deadly. How can he move like he does? He finds a way to seem both lighter than air, and stronger than steel. The dynamic fighter almost seems like an acrobat when he moves across the Square. DRAGON NINJA is a lot of fun to watch all around. Look out for their synchronized movements! Let's Bodyslam!

ChocoPro vs DDT!

DDT's IYASARERUZ (Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda) VS EGG TART (Chie Koishikawa & Hagane Shinno)

IYASARERUZ is hard to describe. Fresh out of the DDT Tag League (lot of those happening lately!), this wild card pairing of ChocoPro frequents is another case of “how can they work together so well?” Tsundere Submission Specialist Chris Brookes finds himself playing the straight man to his comedic genius of a partner. That doesn't mean Chrissy B doesn't bring a lot to the table though! He's known for his Tag Specialization, since the lanky Calamari King can adapt to just about any situation. While he is known for his ability to bend and break, Chris actually possesses a fairly balanced style that punishes foes in a variety of ways until he finally ties them up beyond recognition. His partner, Antonio Honda, is not Italian. This shocking secret was revealed recently (paired with the fact he might have died and been reborn as an angel, as well) but is just one of the many mysterious notes about the Storyteller extraordinaire. With a great grasp of comedic timing and a quick wit, Anton tends to make each match memorable. Will his ancient fox spirit, Gon, make an appearance? Will the guitar make an appearance? There are so many possibilities! These two “Healed” villains will definitely try to steal the show.

EGG TART
is a dangerous combination on a few levels. Now they have proven just how dangerous in the Tag League (and beyond)! The fan favorite polar opposite team has a bizarre but perfect chemistry that can't be put into words. Chie Koishikawa brings a cheerful flair and an unpredictable amount of fury. She is called Too Much Energy for a reason! This Frantic Fencer's backhand fencing chops have brought low monsters and demons alike! Fresh off his Super Asia Championship 60 minute Draw, ”Cold Killer” Hagane Shinno brings an icy, calculated destruction that will remind you of the ravages of winter. Silent, beautiful, uncaring. Simply a force of nature! (He's canonically beautiful by the way, Emi introduced him once as such) Did you know he innovated the Ranhei, also known as Kofi Kingston's SOS? His relentless ferocity has yet to find an equal in Ichigaya. These two strikers are on a war path, with Chie gaining a lot of momentum and fan support...and Hagane having never been defeated in Singles action in ChocoPro! Together, EGG TART just...works. The opposing energies balance one another out to a degree that has shown a bit of each's personality beginning to change the other! Make sure you go out of your way to watch Hagane Shinno's match against Minoru Fujita if you haven't! They were named after an incident where a drunken Chie stole a certain pastry from Hagane, by the way.

Pencil against Pencil! Leader against Champ!

Lulu Pencil, Leader of the Pencil Army VS Super Asia Champion, Minoru Fujita

Good luck Lulu! After a very strong performance this season (the drama of the ending of the Pencil War Saga is fresh in all our minds!), Lulu Pencil (the Leader of the Pencil Army) has proven she is truly a professional wrestler. But another ungodly challenge lies ahead of her. A fated reunion from long ago! Back at the end of Season 4, Lulu took on Minoru Fujita in an absolutely insane match that almost qualified as a deathmatch! (Almost.) Why was that match so important? Well, after she proved herself to the living legend, he joined Pencil Army! Revisiting that momentous day is a great treat for the Farewell Show. Let's see just how much Lulu has changed...but still, the hardest working wrestler in the world will have to do her best! Join the Pencil Army. Believe in Lulu!

The Champ is back! With the voice of an angel and a Big Blue belt on his shoulder, the once banished member of the ChocoPro roster continues his busiest ChocoPro season with a match against his Unit Leader! I tend to always bring up that the MCMG reference him as an inspiration. Despite not succeeding in the Tag League along side Sayaka, Fujita was able to do what he does best: elevate everyone in the match with him. While his move set is delightful (who doesn't love an exploder), Fujita brings a primal intensity that is really unmatched. His earlier mentioned bout with Hagane Shinno was SO GOOD! Can anyone stop his endless endurance? He also recently defeated the Leader of DAMNATION, mind you! Our Bird loving Champ will certainly be a great measuring stick for Lulu, once again...

The Goal of the Best Bros: Hyakkin Thunders!

Asia Dream Tag Champiops, Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) VS Hyakkin Thunders (Emi Sakura & Masahiro Takanashi)

The Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) have been the Asia Dream Tag Champions for a long time! With each Belt Day that passes, their dominance (and their hubris) grows! Is anyone able to stop these two elite level tag experts? “Big Apple” Mei Suruga tends to be the one who seals the deal, one way or another...This Pin Specialist and Submission Lover will find away to put their foes down, every single time (Even if it requires her being Royal Dolphin Pressed upon them)! The Ace of ChocoPro, Akki, manages to keep a cool head unlike his fiery partner, delivering breezy strike combos and showing why he is such a perfect all-arounder: will he perform an aerial feat? Will he wrap them in that brutal Akki Lock? These two on their own are deadly, but together they're a universal threat. They have been compared to Hyakkin Thunders for a long time, being the new spirit of Gatoh Move itself. I suppose they are to ChocoPro what Hyakkin Thunders was to Gatoh Move! The long time goal of this pair has finally emerged, but will they be able to achieve their dreams? Can they bring down the most storied team in Gatoh Move history? The world might not be ready for the Best Bros, but the Best Bros are ready for this challenge! It has all come down to this, and what better way to end the Season that featured the One of a Kind Tag League than with a One of a Kind Main Event?

Hyakkin Thunders appear! (Potentially for the last time for quite a while) While this reunion was not a long term thing (with Emi Sakura soon heading back to America to take part in AEW), the build to the match against the Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) was a lot of fun! Chaos is the best way to end an episode. The longest reigning champs in the Asia Dream Tag Championship's history, the combination of the Oni, Emi Sakura, and the Drunken Brawler, Masa Takanashi, is a near perfect one! These two have long been the goal of the Best Bros (the current Champs), as Akki & Mei believe (rightly) that they set the standard for Mixed Wrestling (also referred to as Intergender). Emi Sakura has an incredibly deadly chop, a devious mind for wrestling, and more technical ability than you could ever imagine! This severely underrated legend of the Joshi scene has not only produced an army of super talented goblins, but also still maintains her vast skill after 25 years on the scene! Masa has only recently returned, but this half of the Calamari Drunken Kings has been impressing ever since (If you watch him closely, you might just see where Mei gets a lot of her comedic antics from). His tricky transitions and swaying style make him hard to grapple with, while his foes need to keep an eye out for that super kick! There is something captivating about the way Masa moves, almost like a fighting game character come to life. While his counter wrestling is dangerous on its own, his mastery of Ichigaya itself means that you aren't safe anywhere in the Chocolate Square! These two are the Mountain that the Best Bros must cross to prove themselves. Not only as the new dominant Mixed Tag team...but as the new caretakers of Ichigaya.

The season 8 finale of ChocoPro is important for two reasons. First, it marks the end of the latest chapter in a book that Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling has yet to conclude writing. Second, this will be the final show of Emi Sakura, at least for a time, before she makes her excursion to America. The Freddie Mercury enthusiast, as well as Founder of Gatoh Move, will be on American soil for All Elite Wrestling for the first time since December of 2019. Needless to say, the Gatoh Move crew will be looking to end this season with a bang. The ChocoPro #144 card is appropriately stacked as well, so let’s get into the action.

Tokiko Kirihara and Sayaka vs. Dragon Ninja (Sayuri and Chon Shiryu)

This ChocoPro #144 match will be incredibly important for Dragon Ninja. For those that don’t remember, Sayuri and Chon Shiryu were involved in the One of a Kind Tag League. Despite their best efforts, they ended the league with 0 points in Block A. Thus, they were the only team in the entire competition to not make the board. Furthermore, Sayuri has been winless since May, her last victory occurring on ChocoPro #118 in a tag team contest alongside Mei Suruga. Can Dragon Ninja return to their winning ways as they take on the Gatoh Move fourth-generation duo of Tokiko Kirihara and Sayaka? While Kirihara, AKA “Otoki-san,” is known for her strike-based approach, Sayaka has proven that she is just as hard-hitting as she is soft-spoken. Keep an eye on this opening encounter.

Antonio Honda and Chris Brookes vs. Egg Tart (Chie Koishikawa and Hagane Shinnou)

Another team that was part of the One of a Kind Tag League was the fan-favorite Egg Tart. The energetic Chie Koishikawa and understated Hagane Shinnou ended Block B with 4 points, though they failed to make it to the finals. Since then, Koishikawa continued to test her mettle against all comers, including the Calamari Drunken Kings themselves, Masahiro Takanashi and Chris Brookes. On this note, Egg Tart will be in for a challenge as they battle not only Brookes but his fellow DDT Pro regular Antonio Honda. Brookes and Honda have been in regular tag team action in DDT, evening competing in the Ultimate Tag League earlier this year, though they ended said league with 2 points. Within the confines of Ichigaya Chocolate Square, however, they are nothing short of formidable. Can Egg Tart end ChocoPro season 8 with a victory or will Brookes and Honda play the spoilers?

Lulu Pencil vs. Minoru Fujita

This match can best be described as an encounter between Pencil Army members. On ChocoPro #144, the group’s leader, Lulu Pencil, will do battle with its deathmatch-wrestling, taser-wielding Super Asia titleholder, Minoru Fujita. It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time they’ve faced off. Think back to episode #72, which took place this past December. In the main event, Lulu Pencil faced Fujita in what was essentially a hardcore match with ChocoPro flair. Despite the crafty approach of the “unbreakable” Lulu Pencil, it was the future Super Asia Champion that emerged victorious. Over the course of several months, Pencil Army’s unyielding commanding officer became stronger, even taking Chris Brookes to the limit in a 30-minute Iron Man Match on episode #137. Perhaps ChocoPro #144 will be a Cinderella-esque storybook ending for Gatoh Move’s lovable underdog.

Best Bros (Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki) vs. Emi Sakura and Masahiro Takanashi (ChocoPro Main Event)

Emi Sakura will wrestle her final match, prior to her excursion to the United States, on ChocoPro #144. It’s an appropriate match, at that, as she will be teaming with her longtime friend and tag team partner, Masahiro Takanashi. Longtime ChocoPro fans will undoubtedly be familiar with their partnership; even when Takanashi was on the shelf or prepping for his return, he assisted Sakura in filming events and assisting in any way he could. Their friendship even predates the formation of Gatoh Move, which speaks to just how well they know one another. In Sakura’s last ChocoPro match, at least for now, she will work alongside Takanashi to face Best Bros.

Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki will be coming off a major main event from the episode prior. On episode #143, they took on Minoru Fujita and Chon Shiryu. Never a team to rest on their laurels, Best Bros are back in the main event picture, this time taking on two of the biggest names responsible for Gatoh Move’s growth in its early stages. It’s amazing to see just how far the company has come since its formation in 2012. Sakura’s vision has taken different directions, and through everything from wrestlers coming and going to the ongoing COVID-19 complications, it has been nothing short of a journey to behold. Here’s hoping that Sakura can contribute to AEW, in a positive way, and that she’ll be back on ChocoPro soon.
