Ah so here we are, at the end of the whole draft. We still have a few million dollars worth of cap space, and based on corporate culture alone, we know that if we come under budget this year, then next year our owner will expect that we can operate on a much tighter budget. So in order to maximize our cap usage to at least keep it constant for next year, we are happy to draft the most expensive player we could get at this point in time while still fitting the constraints. Normally I wouldnt have cared but we usually arent still doing this once the season starts and its clear having actual hockey on is causing this to drag out longer than usual. Forwards outside of the 4th line will I think give any other team trouble. Defense is somewhat weak but I think Byram is awesome and the rest can hold it down. Goaltending is probably the weakest part of this team

My two goalies are 31 (Kuemper) and 39 (Smith), which while I think is one of the stronger pairings for this season, it probably is one of the worst in 5 years. So Seattle will select Jesper Wallstedt to take over the crease in a couple of years. Doesn’t have a draft hit yet, so I’m not over the cap, but I only have 21 NHL contracts. I’ll do my overly long post looking at my team when I wake up tomorrow.

The Bruins need some goalie depth so with their last pick, they choos Filip Lindberg! Final results:  Gamble pick with Gusev that didn't pan out. I really like this forward group but my defense is definitely gonna be an issue, especially with offensive-minded head coach Marc Savard. Plenty of cap room though so Jeremy Jacobs also approves.

Your young and hungry for playoff success Toronto Maple Leafs: Palat - Point - Guentzel Kubalik - Copp - Atkinson Neighbours - Sillinger - Sprong Boldy - Groulx - Mercer Newhook Werenski - Weegar Hanifin - Bear Harley - Walker Perunovich - Schneider Campbell Raanta Team North Americzechiamsterdam is one of the better teams I've drafted (thanks in part to the large number of gimmick teams), and probably with the best future with the sheer number of top-shelf youngsters. The top line and D pair are great. Goalies are pretty good, if injury-prone. Scoring depth on the wings is nice. The weaker points are probably Hanifin (possibly the worst pick I made, but the options for a #3D weren't great when I took him), and Copp as a fill-in #2C when I was hoping Newhook would jump in immediately, though Copp has started the season on fire so maybe that'll work out. I probably needed a veteran 3/4C but Sillinger/Mercer seem like they're going to stick for the season so hey why not. I would've liked a better defensive D to play with Walker on the third pair but again the options there were limited.
