my Cyber R.A.T. 7 started acting up a while ago. The rubber bits started kind of decaying and getting gross and sticky so its in a box Currently bouncing between a logitech MX Master and a Large Trackball

pinky rests are a big deal for me, mice without them tire me out. thats why the rat7 was so good imo

Don't you just hate when you wind up in a store with people who are in a socioeconomic class that is pretty obviously about two levels lower than your own?
I’ve been using a CoStar Stingray 2.0 trackball from the early 1990s on my main system at home lately, it’s been pretty nice

wish I could use the second button for a contextual menu though, both buttons register by default as the main button and changing that will be very difficult (distinguishing the buttons requires sending an ADB command to the trackball, which means figuring out how to talk directly to the ADB-USB adapter)

basic microsoft wireless mouse is real decent

good for regular mousing and symmetrical so also works easily in left hand when necessary for practicing ambidexterity

oh, my, god. Becky, look at her bitrate.
vertical mouse doesn’t have enough buttons. minimizing stretching your fingers for keybosrd shortcuts goes a long way to reducing strain.

g604 is probably as good as it gets for me. lots of buttons and its wireless. no pinky rest and not that ergonomic though. not as good as g700 :(

agree, i saved up and bought their bluetooth keyboard way back in the day and it was awesome if a bit squish given the paucity of wireless models at the time. love jog wheel build into the keyboard for volume, very satisfying

evoluent did the vertical mouse first and imo better. i started using one a few years ago when i had some weird nerve twinges in my wrist and they went away in a few weeks

I've mentioned it a few times but if you're having mouse-related wrist/arm pain, the fix it to use different input devices during the day - use device A for an hour, then B, then switch back, rinse & repeat.

I have not found vertical mice to be differently shaped enough to make a difference. What I DID have success with was using either a trackball as noted previously or a little wacom tablet which are surprisingly cheap these days, like $70.
