I can only guess they've either got some sort of a Ryushen-like songwriter/producer who's taken a vTuber identity, or they've gotten a member of management local to North America. The former is a little strange, because I don't know where they would've FOUND one unless this is fallout from the vSinger auditions, the latter is a little odd because generally they mark their staff members clearly.

Omega's follows on Twitter are very odd as well.

It feels like too much of a production to be someone's sock puppet account as well, and uncharacteristic of Hololive in general.

I'm curious. I certainly want to know more now, but I imagine we won't find out more until the Myth 1st anniversary is done.

In any case, unlike everyone else, they're not easily matched to an explicit call for applicants like literally everyone else in HoloEN, so I wonder if they either approached Cover independently, or had a foot in the door with company through someone else (like a lot of the HoloGamers did through Fubuki)

Big PP Energy
I'm gonna start this new thread posting about some of my favorite vtubers.

Pomu Rainpuff

My favorite Pomu clip:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdL3uOlVBPc

Pomu jokes a lot about Pomu Power but she seriously has TONS of energy and that's what I like about her. She's pretty funny, and has really good synergy with the rest of Lazulight, her "generation" of the English branch of Nijisanji. She's been active for only a few months but has rocketed to the top of my list. She's always fun to watch (or listen to at work, in my case), and I was first drawn to her because of my love for everything having to do with fairies. (Yeah winged fairies don't actually have much to do with actual fairies as they appear in classical lore but I like them anyway). The other members of Lazulight are Elira Pendora and Finana Ryugu.

Selen Tatsuki

My favorite Selen clip:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptc8R4XQSgs (Mostly because it's her hating on Big Bang Theory)

Selen laughs. A lot. Like, constantly. The above clip was actually from a stream where she was challenging herself not to laugh for a full hour. (She was only able to do it because she gave herself three "lives") I work a job that can get pretty stressful so her streams are pretty healing for me to watch. She has great energy and has the talent of making Apex actually fun to watch. She's part of the Nijisanji's second wave of English vtubers called "Obsydia". Nijisanji's first two waves of English vtubers have all been extremely solid and I highly recommend checking them out. The other members of Obsydia are Rosemi Lovelocke and Petra Gurin.

Houshou Marine

My favorite Marine clip:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT7jfr6T3pY

It's not always clear whether a vtuber is putting on a voice or not for their streams, but Marine's voice is apparently so much like her irl voice (if not exactly like it) that she and Noel were once almost discovered at a convention because her voice is so recognizable. Her voice reminds me of Ikue Otani's (the voice of Pikachu, and Toni Toni Chopper from One Piece), which fits because Marine can do a pitch perfect Pikachu impression. Much like Pomu and Selen, Marine is also very high energy. She's also extremely supportive of her fellow members of Hololive, and is known for reaching out to the shyer Holomems and helping to set up connections between members. She's a part of Hololive's 3rd generation, along with Usada Pekora, Uruha Rushia, Shiranui Flare, and Shirogane Noel.

Takanashi Kiara

My favorite Kiara clip:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVJFgpjfMdE

Kiara is probably one of the most willful members of Hololive. She's extremely straightforward and possibly the most high energy member of HoloMyth, Hololive English's first wave of vtubers. She runs HoloTalk, a weekly show where she interviews a different member of Hololive each week, and because of this has the most collabs with other members out of anyone else in Hololive English. Her Superchat streams tend to be one of the better ones to listen to as she's extremely talkative and tends to frequently go on pretty entertaining tangents. The other members of HoloMyth include Mori Calliope, Amelia Watson, Ninomae Ina'nis, and Gawr Gura.

Elira did an Ib speedrun stream and got visited by the current WR holder in chat. It's an untapped market, but that's probably because it requires hours of hitting a reset button.

Yeah I think it's a matter of patience on the streamer's part and how good they are at keeping chat engaged. Korone would be really good at speedrun streams I think if she ever developed an interest in them.

Korone-the-speedrunner would be quite the spectacle and I don't doubt she'd have the tenacity to eke out some world records

How common is it for speedrunners to be pro streamers actually? I feel like practising enough to get good has got to be enough of a time sink that'd put people off the hobby unless they could monetize in the meanwhile on twitch or something

Twitter is good as a kind of modern feed for short form information from specific accounts.

So if you make a twitter on your mobile to follow anyone, go to your Push Notifications and disable all items from the "Recommendations from Twitter" and "News from Twitter" groups. Maybe also disable "Broadcasts & Spaces" and "Moments". You should also go into "SMS notifications" and "Email notifcations" and disable those entirely.

Twitter will still attempt to recommend topics to you, and show you sponsored tweets, but otherwise you shouldn't see any tweets except from anyone you specifically follow, or anything they like or retweet.

Not uncommon, there’s at least a few ocarina of time speedrunners that stream their attempts and practice.

Pretty much all big speedrunners stream constantly, often 8+ hours a day. If hours-streamed are your metric then they are more pro than anybody in Hololive.

The streams tend to be quite chill as they are basically repeating the same drat thing over and over and over hoping for the stars to align.

Yeah, just like most other social media and websites, if you just open the valve and drink from the firehose you're gonna have a bad time and gargle a lot of biohazard runoff. Excellent content and communities are there!

Good Hunter, what... what is this post?
I know Aqua did a Dark Souls speed run a while back

there's also a lot of wiggle room between "eking out milli-frames and half-a's to go for WR" and "going pretty dang speedy, relatively speaking"

like in the Halo game collection, there's achievements for beating levels/games under a certain time. Doing them draws on speed run techniques and generally skillfull play, and are definitely an accomplishment. That sort of thing would by hype for a vtuber to go for, without getting into the full on speedrunner grind.

e; oh and Ame did some Portal speed runs
