I would too. No cap will drive the regulator crazy trying to maintain output voltage and they may just fault out and give up. Or it might have killed something more important. Check for cracked solder joints as well, especially on anything mounted to the heatsinks.

I don't know man everytime I go to the gym here there are like two huge dudes with raging high and tights snorting Nitro-tech off of each other's rock hard abs.
You guys have done a bunch of home repairs, so I figure this is as good a place as any to ask... I'm going to be doing work on my folks' basement soon, it has had horrible flooding issues in the past, but now has an ejector pump, drain tiles, a vapor barrier on the concrete, and a sump pump. However, I'm still concerned about moisture issues, as it regularly gets up to +75% humidity when the AC is on. I'm planning on using solid foam insulation with open cell spray foam on top, having all of the sills be pressure treated, and keeping the studs at least 1" from the exposed brick/concrete, but do I put in a vapor barrier on top of the insulation and should I use green or purple drywall to try to prevent mold growth?

Truth. I have to read food labels carefully and I still only know "Fierce Grape" as a flavor name, but couldn’t tell you which purple it is with any certainty. Dark purple?

The Frost flavors are the best; light blue, white, light purple, etc, but that teal-ish green one is always a welcome change of pace. I think it's supposed to be salted cucumber

Why not use closed cell? That is a vapor barrier past a certain depth.

Aches, sore throat, and holy hell the SWEATING. I have probably slept for 36 or more of the last 48 hours. I wake up fairly frequently and I am absolutely drenched.

0/10, would not recommend.

Turns out it’s NOT the Covid! Swab came back negative which is nice.

Been to see the GP, “it could be viral or bacterial” Rest and fluids.

Oh well, at least I got my meds topped up while I was there.

Because I was taught by a frustrated building inspector that you have to be much more careful when spraying closed cell foam. If you have to trim the foam to get it flush with the studs, like what he walked in on me doing, it completely ruins the vapor barrier it would have created
Thankfully he passed us, but I only got to actually use the sprayer for about 10 seconds on some garbage wood before I got told to stop wasting it, so I'm not 100% confident that I won't have to trim sections of insulation to be flush when I do it for real

No carpool / HOV lanes here, purely for the Halloween LOLs. I still have one of the police antennas on the roof of Canadian Bacon too, I'm going to zip tie a skeleton arm to it (and snip a few fingers off, so it's giving a peace sign - I did that, but attached to the rear wiper, on Brokeback last year). I'm really tempted to add another "family member" to the back seat, but since there's no head rests back there, it'll be a bit more difficult to secure them upright (Anastasia's neck is zip tied to one of the head rest rods). I need to move the seat up (WAY up) to make sure she's more visible... :v:

A few years ago:

Tried to do the same this year (but larger), but waited to long to look for a new Skelly. And this was cheaper!

Did I ever mention Halloween is my favorite time of year?

drat look at all those fancy big city Gatorade flavours. We have Blue Bolt, Fierce Berry, Orange Ice, Fierce Apple (news to me) and red and blue sugar free ones I don't acknowledge.

Cucumber is fine in gin and tonic or maybe with Pimms and that's it.

Its a bitch to trim but I don’t think thats true about the vapor barrier. Its not just the outer layer. Every bubble in closed cell is just that, closed. Maybe thats brand specific but I have never seen/read/heard that before. I do know they say it takes a certain depth, usually 1” or so. You may want to look deeper because its commonly used around here specifically for that purpose.

I'm not even sure mine ever had a divider - there's no cuts in the floor covering, anyway. How do they usually mount?

edit well it did, I just now noticed the imprints on the headliner... you'd think I would have noticed after nearly 4 months. Still fairly sure it's a detective car - wrong color for any of the police departments out that way (also wrong for the sheriff's department), doesn't show any fading around any logos it may have had, idle hours are way too low for patrol. I'm gonna see if the Ford dealer near me can give me some history, at least. The department I THINK it came from has 25 officers total (that's including the chief).

I may just slap down a pair of 8TB single drives. That would take up less space at least.

I didn't think mine had a divider until I removed the seats to put the carpet from a Grand Marquis in, and finally found the bolt holes.

That would make things a little easier if I could use closed cell polyurethane foam. My dad is trying to do an alternative form of framing* and I just can't find a way to get high enough R value, fit conduit, and properly protect the basement from water in the 1.5" section he's trying to give me to work in

*he's trying to not disturb the drain tiles or the barrier the waterproofing company put on the stem wall, so he's moving the sill up from the floor and placing it up on the 3' tall stem wall, but AFAIK that's not up to code. And it's just a pain in the rear end to try and make things fit behind the 1.5" furring strips he wants to leave dangling where outlets go and conduit is supposed to run
I don't know if this drawing is helpful, but it's what I've got to try and show him that we're not going to have enough room to insulate his basement properly, among other things
