I've had a Check Engine light come on periodically for the last 6 months, and today I finally face the music. I'm assuming something transmission related. I've never ignored a Check Engine light before, and I would have taken the truck in immediately for this one, but. I have one of those sensors that reads the error code, and it would clear each time I checked it. Then the Check Engine light would disappear for a while, so I was like, gently caress it, let's roll. And I've been doing that for half a year now. But I feel like I've pushed my luck enough. Should have signed up with Car Shield or one of those services months ago, in preparation of sticking them with this impending bill.

Sounds to me like you need a light on your dashboard to tell you if your check engine light is broken. A check engine light light, if you will.

if i had to guess i would say they either A) make it to a refuge space station, like Seveneves or B) the asteroid breaks up and just really fucks the planet up but not beyond the survival of our plucky band of characters who will need to survive the scariest asteroid of all: other people
