Bryan Danielson introduced me (in a roundabout way) to wrestling tapes on Highspots.com. I saw a couple matches of his, was instantly obsessed, and started buying tapes and later DVDs of all his work all across the indies and Japan. So glad he's back!!!!

I was suicidal and his struggle to be champion kept my going for that entire year, I wept like a baby when he retired, I wept like a happy baby when he unretired. i love that wrestler and I have seen every match he's done. I have never seen him look as motivated and joyful as tonight I am joyful.

Its interesting because I almost like the show more for its flow and growth from episode to episode than from the events of any given episode? Episode 4 was where the series really surprised me after two of the worst episodes aired back to back and had my favorite antagonist concept in the series bar none (both for the tooth monsters and the hilariously simple villain concept of a money-hungry dentist). Episode 7 was another episode where I was really caught by surprise in the series' commitment to snappy pacing and character growth, and the fact that it marked Jake's friends going from sideshow distractions to actual major characters. I'd've ranked the most recent episode I saw higher, too, if the Dark Dragon wasn't such a disappointing antagonist.

Dishonorable mention to Episode 14 for aging like hot milk that somebody pissed in.

But seriously, this is an example of why he is so loving good.

The man can be heel or face effortlessly. He can bring a goofy charm to this sort of comedy stuff, whilst also being a credible badarse champion wrestler. And do it all so well.

He also seems like a nice person in real life. Which is not a thing you can say about many wrestlers.
