I guess Storm is confirmed. They did some marketing gimmick where Deadpool took control of their twitter account, demanding they put him in the game, and also leaked Storm. But maybe she's DLC, IDK. Eh. Morbius is in the original comics. Venom fits the vibe pretty well, IMO. Storm, I suspect, is there to diversify the cast a bit more (I am not saying this is bad). Deadpool is there because he's popular at the moment, but tbh I like Deadpool so whatever. Hopefully the game is popular enough that they feel confident enough to bring in some deeper cuts.

Storm has been adjacent to mystical poo poo many times and she's always been really close with Logan so that doesn't feel like too much of a stretch. Also Ororo owns. that dialogue all looked dire and forgettable to me, which is a problem if the game wants me to spend significant amounts of time in the base for mechanical benefits in combat

Depends on how into comics poo poo you are, because there's a LOT of it, apparently. E.g. one review is describing a whole 10 minute long superhero book club scene. Hope it's well-written!

PS5 informed me that Midnight Sons was downloaded and installed and started a countdown until it's playable. Absolutely loved XCOM 2 and Slay the Spire and the dumbass story from Marvel Ultimate Alliance so I am hyped as poo poo for this. Literally the first game I've preordered since XCOM 2.

The way the Skillup guy is describing all the story scene as pointless faffing about with discussions about yoga and fishing and being buds just makes me think that's the exact kinda poo poo I want lol. We'll see if it actually pans out, I can definitely tell that they didn't prioritize dynamic animations here, so maybe it gets a bit too visually dry, but it still sounds like a fun romp like the GOTG game.

(Alas, there's no romancing to be found in the latter, but there are still fun little hints and digs to be had along the way. Case in point: at one point Blade starts a book club that's clearly an attempt to impress Captain Marvel, and it's arguably the cutest darn thing I've ever seen in my life.)

That does sound amazing, yes. I don't want emotional discussions about dark backstories or bland sticks in the mud who only talk about the mission.
