The bail system is ostensibly about making sure you show up in court, not about predicting you’re are danger to the community or that you’re a risk for more crimes. In reality it’s a way to keep the poor behind bars and let people with money get out. Either way, if you can pay whatever they say will ensure you show for your hearings you can get out. Usually at least. Sometimes it is used to keep people who are extreme risks in by setting the figure astronomically high, but imo those people just shouldn’t get offered bail in the first place but what are you going to do
