I'm on board with that. Also on board with FSU being a legit bottom 10 team.

And with that my weekly moon poll

Just out of curiosity, but how do you get the data for your poll? I did a moon poll a long time ago, but it took me so long to put all the data into my spreadsheets I gave up. Seemed like it was hard to find a good place to get all that data in an easily formatted way. I was trying to use a lot though, points for/against, yards for/against, turnovers, first downs, and maybe a couple other things.

I'm old fashioned and use a spreadsheet, importing data from other spreadsheets I generate at https://stats.ncaa.org/rankings?sport_code=MFB&division=11. I've streamlined things over the years to where I can pretty much copy/paste.I use wins/losses, points for/against, yards for/against, and turnover margin; bonuses for wins over top 25 teams (AP in Week 1, my ranking after), win/loss streak, and strength of schedule. If I have free time I can even do my own strength of schedule calculation but most of the time I get lazy and use KenPom since his calculation comes close enough to mine.

I am fairly certain that ULM was the worst team you had last year, I was curious if you could see what they finished with last year compared to what UCONN is doing this year? Just for comparisons sake as I know ULM was awful last year

2020 to anything else is a bit apples to oranges but ULM finished 0-10 last year on an 11 game losing streak, all while playing the 4th weakest schedule in the country. They finished at -7.

If I extrapolate UConn out to 12 games and assume they finish 0-12, due to what should work out to be an average strength of schedule they'll finish around -5.

Playoff expansion talks are collapsing. The Pac 12 is a hard no on a field of 12. The SEC is a hard no on a field of 8 and 6 autobids. Notre Dame demands a special exemption for them. The G5 will go to the courts if there are less than 6 autobids.

I’m betting the compromise ends up being 5+5.

As I understand all 10 FBS conferences (as they're all members of the CFP) have to vote yes for any format change before the current contract expires. Having only five autobids cuts the G5 out which means 5 automatic no votes under the current CFP, and if that's the new model in 2025 the G5 aren't going to sign on to that and would have a pretty good antitrust case.

They’re not cut out if it’s “five highest ranked conference champions”, rather than formal autobids for the P5.

*winks*

I reckon the G5 would take that as an even bigger insult than being cut out entirely. You might be onto something.
