You can tell ancient people were really terrified of vampires because people kept coming up with new weaknesses for them and new ways to kill them.

Now fast forward to the modern era where it's not uncommon to find media featuring vampires who have a lot of their traditional weaknesses removed to the point where some vampires aren't even harmed by sunlight anymore.
