Bonaventure posted:https://abcnews.go.com/International/vampire-threat-terrorizes-serbian-village/story?id=17831327 You can tell ancient people were really terrified of vampires because people kept coming up with new weaknesses for them and new ways to kill them. Now fast forward to the modern era where it's not uncommon to find media featuring vampires who have a lot of their traditional weaknesses removed to the point where some vampires aren't even harmed by sunlight anymore.

Bonaventure posted:“[Gypsies], Serbians and Albanians all believe that a vampire can also be destroyed by this means: a vampire’s left sock must be taken, filled with earth from the grave (dug from the spot under which its head rests) and cast anywhere beyond the village boundaries into another village. It is believed that the vampire will then go after its sock to the latter place, and that in its flight it may drown itself.” This sounds like people were getting desperate.
