I'm exaggerating a little, but I think the glut of new content makes it hard for most new stuff to stand out in the first place, let alone to make a big enough impact that people will be talking about it years later. Even if it just ends up being a flash in the pan, having a massive hit with international appeal isn't too shabby. King of the hill and the wire?

I like the idea that someone had where gi hum is trying to do the shogo kawada and trying to bring the game down from the inside so he recruits people before it starts, but then is immediately killed in the first game and they have to figure it out on their own

The weird thing about squid game and other shows that are released all at once is they seem to go super flash in the pan. Same with stuff like cobra kai. I kind of like how netflix releases stuff like snowpiercer one at a time, though that might have to do with the tv contract
