ref bump'd: target is ""unconscious"" until something dramatic happens. target is also untargetable while ""unconscious"". good-aligned characters (on both sides of the combat) take an extra 25% damage while this is active

chagrin: target feels really bad for hitting someone last turn. really regrets losing their cool, decides to take a turn or two and just do some self-reflection and figure stuff out, y'know? should probably call them and apologize too. is it too soon? it was just like last turn, jeez, will that seem fake, like they're just trying to sweep it under the rug? hold on they gotta make a phone call and get some advice. ah jeez.

quippin' pox: target takes actions as normal but starts dropping one-liners and puns in response to anything that targets them or any action they take. quips are played at max volume, regardless of your sound settings. contagious.

left-right dyslexia (player units only): reverses the left and right inputs when giving this unit commands. except sometimes it doesn't reverse them. look it's hard for me too sometimes ok? i have to make the L with my hands. now you get to experience it a bit, as a status effect, except you also have healing spells that just solve the problem. also if unit has any commands with "east" or "west" in the name those get switched too

upside-down: flips the unit's sprite. animations get weird. no downside. unfortunately wears off in a few turns but some romhackers are working on a thing to just turn it into a toggle in the menu. i think they're doing it unit-by-unit too? sounds complicated but pretty dope, looking forward to the release

caffiene addiction: no difference in stats, unless deprived for 24+ hours in which case you need to roll higher than a 3 on a d6 in order to not be grumpy toxoplasmosis: take increased damage from all rodent class enemies wizards ankle: roll a d20. did it land on a number? your ankle glows. jrpg/wrpg confusion: a refusal to progress unless certain you are taking canon actions.

minmaxitis: target misses the next three turns because they just looked at the gear they have available and they're pretty sure they can get some more DPS if they shift things around. where was that build calculator site? no not that one, that one's three patches behind. hold on a minute it's probably bookmarked here somewhere.

earworm: a three-bar segment just keeps playing in target's head, over and over. and it's a good segment, the melody absolutely rips, but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hearing it nonstop is painful. counteracts the effects of tinnitus, though!

it's complicated: will save modifier = (((time since last significant interaction + texts left on read) - (relationship duration mod)*(1+(severity of last fight*(2.89/time since last fight)))) + (base empathy + empathy mod * (therapy mod * moon phase))) * -1 speed multiplier = ((relationship duration mod/(1*(AVG(group inertia coefficient, base empathy, therapy mod))))/(SQRT(time since last significant interaction * texts left on read))) * -1 focus modifier = ((time since last significant interaction * texts left on read) - (AVG(group inertia coefficient, relationship duration modifier))) * (severity of last fight*(2.89/time since last fight)) there's a calculator for it thankfully
