Full disclosure, it was the Lirik channel I was subscribed to. But there was so much screaming at viewers and rage quitting and cursing out games he was playing... I didn't snap to my senses until I said something in chat like "Man, this guy seems miserable and like he really doesn't want to be doing this anymore sometimes" and got permabanned for it. I had a moment of "Wait............... this goddamn place is toxic as hell" and peaced out.

I don't watch many gaming streamers, but I follow a lot of music and arts streamers on Twitch who have great, supportive communities and no-toxicity chats. Many of them make their primary living through streaming (especially during the pandemic), and I hate that this is probably going to negatively impact many of them. On the other hand, gently caress Amazon, Jeff Bezos, and specifically Twitch management that has sat around for years with their collective thumbs up their asses while failing to address issues with widespread chat toxicity, hate raids, and weaponized DMCA claims. I'm conflicted, is what I'm saying.
