It does if she now fights him for thousands of years, leading to her beating him then regenerating at the end of the season! For the record, I dont think this would be a good or satisfying ending, its just my prediction for what they're going to do.

Jodie has 3 more specials next year before she bows out and regenerates.

They really need to hire new sound people - the music and audio effects were all WAY too loud. I spent the whole episode constantly adjusting the volume on my TV.

That was just..... poo poo.

Unless I missed something (which is easy to do due to the audio mix being hosed) the sontar plan was go to the final destruction point of the flux.
So the flux has destroyed 99.999999% of the universe, but the dalek and cyber ships are enough matter to cancel it.
And the sontar plan is to rule over the rest of the universe that consists of just the time planet?

But I suppose the flux sometimes completely annialates everything and is destroying the whole universe, but also sometimes leaves planets intact but just burns the surface and leaves people. And also is sometimes outrunnable, some times you get stuck in its gravity. Sometimes it moves really fast across the universe, sometimes rips the edge off a space ship and then takes 20 seconds to move 30 feet further into the spaceship.

Also what was the deal.with serpent guy and jinder anyway? As far as I can tell, at some unspecified point in the future there is some human based government that uses him a negotiator, assigns jinder as an escort, does.some dodgy poo poo, jinder reports him and gets banished to cover it up, serpent then time travels to pre unit earth for some reason to gently caress up unit and help the sontarons, then acts like he never met jinder, then gets put on a tiny rock floating in space without putting up any resistance.

And the sontarons. Invaded during crimea to alter history and invaded current earth, got stopped in both, but then just came back and took over earth completely again. That it seems didnt have any affect at all.

In Canadian productions, you have to justify every hire from another country to the government. I bet the Beeb being run *by* the government would make this worse.

Though I have little doubt there are Americans with accents who are also citizens over there, which just brings us back to the original question.

The BBC isn't run by the government

That was good, but do we really need another "companion is in love with the doctor" plotline (especially this close to another regen/showrunner change)

Yeah, but I doubt any modern showrunner would do that, it would reflect really badly, and if someone was of the attitude to do that they'd probably have been removed as show runner rather than having a handover period. I'm assuming Chibnell and RTD had a chat where basically RTD said if he wanted any companions/similar aspects left for the new doctor. Chibnell is bad at making doctor who but he isnt malicious. If RTD wanted theres no reason that Yaz couldnt be a companion for the next doctor. According to the headline of some article my phone was recommending me a few months ago Mandeep Gill was making comments about how Yaz could absolutely continue on if thats the direction they wanted to go in, so sounds like she'd be up for it.

Anyway, it would be a really easy problem to deal with even in the unlikely instance of someone taking that attitude; They get dropped off at home offscreen or in the pre credits sequence of the new showrunners episode 1, or killed off or whatever. The actual problem would be the other way round, if Rusty said "Oh, actually I've got plans for Dan and Yaz, so make sure they are there at the regeneration" and Chibnell has to tell him that actually they've already done scripts and a bunch of producion and Dan dies saving his dog in special #3 and Yaz is revealled as a Rutan in #2".
Yeah I don't know the inner workings of tv production or whatever but the fact that this handover was announced publicly a long time ago and the fact that it is someone coming "back into the fold " that I would hope that they have been working together towards a smooth handover.
