They were clearly trying while not being given a really workable direction to take things. I hope they get other oppourtunities. I do wonder if the cancellation saved the kid from some potentially horrendous writing. I feel like they could have gotten Anime Ed dislike times 10. (Though on my rewatch anime Ed was not nearly as annoying as I recalled, or how people seemed to talk about)
