chaosbreather posted:i know the exact reasoning behind the logo they would have used. obv a saddle shape is a positively curved non-euclidian space. positive means good and non-euclidian means new. it is also a hyperbolic space which means infinite exponential growth that encompasses everything. in two dimensions it's also a standing wave, which moves in time but not space meaning it's everywhere. they chose the projection there because it looks just like a ∞, but made it wider so it would seem less on the nose. that has the unfortunate effect of making it look limp and droopy like a soggy pringle drenched in tears and bloody semen it looks like a pair of wet rear end cheeks
