Biden saw that a one term president with a most likely stolen election easily coasted on to a second term by sending some planes into two towers and decided to sacrifice a bridge in Baltimore.

Isn't the usual justification for unskewing the polls something about how 18-29 are supporting Trump so they must have oversampled Republicans because that can't be correct

my favorite thing about people trying to unskew polls is that instead of like, digging into the demographic information and getting the raw data and changing how it was reweighted--you know, what you'd actually do if you wanted to correct an unrepresentive sample--they just pick some new numbers at random that fit the narrative they believe in

Wouldn’t be surprised if Biden’s popularity really is that low among youngs because of Palestine and student loans. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll actually vote Trump, more likely they’ll just stay home. It mostly seems to just be people over 35 taking the bait about democracy going bye-bye and jackbooted thugs coming to round up gay people and Muslims.

I saw some graphic last week about biden being underwater in a bunch of states that were polling in the plus column for D senators.

hard as it is for blue maga to imagine, biden is singularly bad as a candidate, so much so that people will vote democrat for other offices but not for him.

The Missouri primary only ended up with a handful of Uncommitted delegates and the state's obviously going Trump anyway, but an impressive 36% Uncommitted vote in St. Louis City. (Jackson County is mostly Kansas City, Boone is mostly the University of Missouri.)

Turnout sucks because only freaks (myself included) show up to vote on whether the incumbent should run again one way or the other, but also this year's democratic primary was so hosed up you'd almost think they were trying to stop people from voting despite how important they say it is. (Every county had a single polling place that was open for four hours 8 AM to noon. Mail-in ballots were freely available but when I requested one it showed up so late that I couldn't return it before the deadline.)

That is a 0.6% election turnout, very impressive.

A perfect comment on an article about Eric Adams' handling of "out of control" crime in NYC:

The "root causes" canard is an excuse for taking no action.

Addressing root causes will take generations with uncertain results, at best.

Another reason why the progressive cannot be trusted with power or governance.

It's pretty cool that they basically admit that we're right, but actually implementing systemic change costs more and they don't actually care about improving lives, just not having to see the problem

quote:

CIVRAC-EN-MEDOC, France — Former Rep. Jim McDermott is the rare lawmaker who has been able to live out all the policies he worked for during his decades in Washington.

He just had to move to another country to do it.

From a quaint French village about 90 minutes outside of Bordeaux, the longtime liberal lawmaker enjoys free health care and a safe community where he doesn’t need to lock his doors at night. He loves that kids in the neighborhood don’t worry about gun violence and that women have access to reproductive care, specifically abortion. He reads the news every day but says he doesn’t miss America all that much.

“I spent 16 years in the Washington state legislature trying to get single-payer health care. Then I spent nearly 30 years in Congress trying to get single-payer. Then I came to France and in three months I had single-payer. Was that mind-blowing? You bet,” he says.
