Clifford being at about 50% at best while also being gunshy and taking a few big hits early on had a whole lot more to do with it. Yea I don’t know how anyone can watch Penn State with a healthy Clifford and think they don’t easily beat Illinois and likely Iowa as well if he’s not hurt. They’re a drastically different team without him at full strength.
