Yeah the car itself is apparently extremely impressive in most ways a performance car should be. Just looked better in the "Before" stage imho! Also I'm sure people had noticed it before but the rear end looks a lot better in darker/solid colors.

Just got back from a hell drive from DC to Arkansas and back. 2 days to drive down 1 day to chill out and 2 days drive back. My partners Gran is in the hospital there for a heart thing that she'll probably not recover from. She's 95 and had a good life they are just keeping her comfortable for now. I drove her down there to be with her Mom and Gran I'm starting the new job on Friday or I wouldn't have turned and burned so quickly. Her best friend still lives in the town so they'll roadtrip back up after whatever happens happens Flying her down was considered but ruled out to keep covid safe. Sorry to keep bumming out the chat thread with death stuff.

Missing out on a loved one passing is lovely. I missed all 4 of my grandparents passing. One before I was born, 2 when I was in college or at sea, and one didn't want anyone around. One bit of good news: my COVID test came back negative and the neighbor is doing ok in the hospital, COVID-pneumonia be damned. I guess the vaccine works? Counterpoint: Mom's PET scan results are in. The existing tumors grew, and there's a new one in her liver (hepatic tumor count: 3 now). Doctors appointment tomorrow morning to discuss options. It ain't gonna be good. Counter-counterpoint: I got my kid to laugh for the first time over the weekend. He had giggled at my wife blowing raspberries on his belly late last week, but I got a couple of legit laughs on Saturday night and again on Sunday. No more since then, I guess the humor wore off.

Deteriorata posted:"Pop" includes all popular music regardless of genre. Rock, rap, do wop, swing, Big Band, jazz, ragtime, whatever. Whatever has been popular at any given time. Right. I know that pop(ular) music is a catch-all umbrella for whatever was popular at the time. What got me thinking about it is that there are sub-genres of 'classic rock', there used to be 'oldies' stations for 50s/60s/70s music, people refer to 'old school hip-hop', etc. We're nearing the point where there is as much time between now and music like the aforementioned Hanson song (which came out in 1997) as there was between the Hanson song and some of the music on those classic/oldies stations (1972). '...Baby one more time' is also from '97 and neither are rock/R&B etc, so would the development of 'classic pop' be a thing.

I think you really need to be married to the idea that you need a vehicle that is both a Wrangler and a pickup, and that sacrifices were made in order to do so. It's longer than a Wrangler so if your idea of driving around offroad involves technical trails where the length is a problem, it's worse than even a 4-door, let alone a 2-door. It's taller, worse-riding, noisier, and more expensive than any comparable midsize truck, while only really beating those trucks offroad on trails where solid front axle rockcrawling helps. Oh, and every mod you do to it to improve one aspect (say, a lift kit and bigger tires for better Jeepin') makes the other worse. I think they look cool, but I think I'm much happier with a nice-ish midsize truck ('18 Canyon Duramax) and a shitbox TJ Wrangler so that one vehicle doesn't have to be both. Hell, if I could do so without impacting the cargo/towing capacity on it at all, I'd consider lowering the Canyon just to make the bed that much easier to work with. Radio chat! I rarely voluntarily listen to the radio. But there are two or three stations that are somewhat palatable: Kink FM or kink indie: https://kink.nl/player You can click on one of the four streams in the left bottom corner. Can be just about palatable enough for use in the office, but avoids the played to absolute death easy listening poo poo. This one is actualaly worth a try to listen to for fun, not just to have a radio playing in the background. Radio Seagull: http://www.radioseagull.co.uk/listen.htm Mostly run by people who do it for fun. They titled themselves as 'Because there is more than music than just hits'. They have old school presented shows too. Radio Caroline. Yes, the one from the pirate radio stuff: http://www.radiocaroline.co.uk/#home.html Their content varies. Sometimes it's those same old 10 boomerific played to death, sometimes they actually have an hour of music that i haven't heard before. As a bonus, if you're in the southwest UK or near the dutch or belgian coast, you can hear them on 648khz AM. I like to use my old tube radios once in a while. I'm cursed by having coworkers at the lab/office who can have music on and not pay attention to it. They don't notice that SkyRadio already played the same Adele or Ed Sheeran song twice today, and those same songs yesterday and the day before. December is even worse. Multiple times a day they'll start playing All i want for Christmas (and similar songs) which aren't too bad in themselves, but rapidly become 40 grit sandpaper to my ears if i hear them multliple times a day, every week.

Part of getting older I guess, everyone we care for is too so they are more likely to get the older age illnesses and pass

Hey guys, been awhile. Life is busy, we're finally out of the inlaws, my family is nuts, and minivans are boring. Can I call in a goon favor? Looking at a car in/around Trenton NJ and was hoping I can get someone to poke it a little bit for me. Pictures are great and seller is pretty up front about it and it's condition, but doesn't hurt to have a separate set of eyes to look it over before I can make the 6 hr drive and buy it. Can compensate for time/hassle.

Back from the quiet getaway, they didn't lie about beach frontage. I'm about 25 metres away from our cabin. This rear end in a top hat lived in the tree above us and LOVED jumping out of his tree, onto the roof and start his mating calls early morning.... I guess in retaliation from ours during the night Speaking of, there might be a normal sized human getting cooked up when you average our sizes...

You can fairly accurately predict a child's future height: add the mother and father's height together, then add 5 inches (13 cm) for boys, or subtract 5 for girls, and divide this total by 2.

# ? Nov 5, 2021 12:24 |

That's not super far off for me and one of my brothers, we're 6'5"and 6'7" and it says we should be 6'3". It mispredicted wildly on the third but so did the rest of us so I'm not going to point any fingers.

Supposedly another one is twice their height at 2 years old for boys, or at 18 months for girls. I imagine this method would at least predict more of the outliers the other method doesn't.

Any thoughts on siphon feed vs pressurized sand blaster setups? In either case it will be used outdoors with maybe some cardboard taped together to keep the media from traveling long distances. Do the pressurized tanks "cut" faster?
