Mario Kart Tour dlc tracks aside, I think it's a contender for the best looking game Nintendo's ever made.

glad im not the only one that thinks so. i really dislike the world cities' tracks, i find their style really jarring with the rest of the game's feel. the other mario themed ones are fine, rosalina's ice world is particularly good looking i thought.

My biggest problem with the Tour tracks are that all the city ones have overlapping lines/route changes with every lap, and the signposting is trash, so it's easy to go the wrong way if you don't have them memorized.

Yeah, I bought it a few weeks ago without the expansion pass and still struggle with cities because they are so confusing without a trial mode.

During covid there were a few that were as long a wait. But yeah, it's been 7 months. I didn't check back before 2019, but this is the longest, non-covid wait.

Anybody have any recommendations for dungeon crawlers?

Looking for something more focused on combat and exploration over story, though having something there is a plus.

Potato Flowers in Full Bloom is an excellent chill dungeon crawler. Make a crew of four little guys, inch your way through a giant dungeon to maybe find some potato seeds at the bottom. Light management is a huge part of exploration, combat is tactical but not super complex, all the little dudes are cute and if you open your menu you get a diorama of your party just hanging out. Solid recommend.

I am genuinely confused what 'tired of indies' even means. Like... there are ten billion different indie games that cover everything from driving sims to RPGs to puzzle games to platformers. It's like saying "I'm tired of books." Unless you're tired of the very concept of video games (or I guess video games that are not AAA-super budget graphicfucker9000 games) indies are just... video games.

It's not a genre I truly like but the long-form review someone posted really made this game look super cool.

A note on this, if you already played labyrinth of refrain then the dungeons are almost exactly the same as that game with a new story molded around it, at least up to where I played. I was kind of annoyed it was almost the exact same game and gave up on it

Maybe I'm overstating it because it's been a while but I remember feeling like I knew exactly where hidden walls and such were in the sequel. Also maybe it diverges more later on and I just didn't get far enough.

I enjoyed refrain though and anyone looking for a first person dungeon crawler should consider getting one of the two games at least.
