Kawalimus posted:The Bears were dumb just like the 2011 Ravens were dumb. After that big completion to get into the Red Zone they could have played for another first down and bled the clock and ensured that they would either score a TD there and win or fail. Instead they went straight for the end zone and gave the Steelers tons of time to work with. And of course what happened? The Steelers marched right down that field and got the field goal and then there wasn't enough time for the Bears to get back into range. the Bears aren't good enough to purposefully not score until the "right time", it's a miracle they got the TD at all

Why did Nagy think his kicker could make a 66 yard field goal lol surely someone could tell him no the kick will be ten yards short because he is not Justin Tucker

But that doesn't matter. You have to value the first down in that situation more than the touchdown. Then worry about the touchdown.

I've seen some terrible games in my time. Lots of terribly called games, and lots of terrible reffing. I've never gotten mad at a non-Panthers game before. Tonight was the first time. Those refs were loving awful, and that game might have been the worst-officiated game I've ever watched live

You see Justin Fields throw some of the prettiest deep balls in the NFL and have a few big bodied pass catchers that all five you a better chance on a hail Mary and think it's time to let Santos tie the record

It's a nightmare to kick there, it was incredibly stupid to not roll the dice on the hail mary play.

We’re going to get an NBA-style “refs in the pocket of gambling outfits” scandal some time in the next 5 years complete with shock, shock from official channels that it could happen. And we’ll all lol about it and keep watching anyway because football fuckin’ rules Christ! can you imagIne a replacement refs situation today? Content of never seen before levels of tremendousness

He wasn’t flagged for the contact with the official (it was the bullshit “taunting” they’re emphasizing this season), but Marsh had postgame availability and he was 100% right when he said if he or any other player did that there would have been an ejection and a probable suspension/fine coming down. It was absolutely disgraceful and also no one is going to remember it when that guy is reffing another game as usual next week.

Guessing the league will ask the ref why he was so upset that a player got sacked. But they aren't going to push it.
