This might be the ideal outcome for the league from that cynical/marketing/narrative point of view. They get the chance to give a New York team a trophy and they get to have the cup final hosted in a good atmosphere and not a baseball/NFL stadium

Couldn't watch any of the match today because work, but surprised to see the final score... Is there a decent rundown of what got half the Union's loving roster on the COVID list? Or is that secret illuminati poo poo? A full strength Union squad would've taken NYCFC to the woodshed today, and it would be horribly disappointing if they shot themselves in the foot by dropping their guards in the runup to one of the biggest games in their history.

There's another more general rule about "High-Risk Behavior" in there as well, which seems less specific. So if I'm reading that right, either all eleven players got positive tests with symptomatic COVID, or there was a high-risk event where players ended up, or some mix of both.
