Oldest I've seen are 2000s. You really have to devote a lot of time to get into the current flow of the forums, as well as forge friends that help augment what you post and make it better. The moment you step away that starts to slip, and you either don't have the time anymore to rebuild it or you don't want to take the chance and keep falling flat on your face. Plus everything is super visual now - memes, animated gifs. We worked better with just text and thats just outdated now.
