A single act of carelessness leads to the eternal loss of beauty

Yipee! SASS!

Hi Santa!

I'm a rapidly aging married ladygoon with two goons in training, two cats, a snake, and some squirrels and raccoons that live in my backyard that don't know they're my pets, but they ARE.

I would love anything interesting from your part of the world, but if you need more help, some things I enjoy (in no particular order): Beetlejuice, Goonies, Pearl Jam (I am forever stuck in the late 80s as evidenced by my extensive flannel collection), What We Do in the Shadows, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Disneyana, tiki culture (I love shag and Jeff Granito). Favorite colors are red, black, rose gold, and teal.

Santee,

Get your epipen ready. Bees are coming. :ohdearsass:

Also love to travel, but there's this virus that's keeping us from going places for now. We also noth love the old game consoles (Nintendo 64 and older). You lookin' at me? Don't.
I look forward to this every year. Sometimes it’s the best part of my holiday. I’ve been doing SASS every year since 2006 except for one year when I missed signups. 😩

I’m an almost 37 year old lady goon (my birthday is next month! :toot: ) I have two cats and would love some things for them.

I like horror movies, Halloween, and year-round spookiness. I like arts and crafts and theatre. I used to make props for theatre productions and really miss it.

Currently I’m a Starbucks barista, so if I’m your Santa, expect some coffee in your gift unless you mention you don’t like coffee in your SASS post. 😂

I’d love to get regional items from where my Santa lives and/or handmade items.

I’d rather not get any clothing items unless it’s accessories like socks because I don’t really know what size I am. My size ranges from L-2X depending on the brand. I do love novelty socks though.

I collect Funko Pops and try to find Pops of all the characters I’ve been for Halloween costumes in the past (Sam from Trick r Treat, Zoltar, Cruella, Trixie Mattel, Seymour from Little Shop, etc). I’d love more horror themed ones.

I also like Tiki stuff and collect Tiki mugs. I’m also fond of mid-century modern design and love retro kitschy things, the weirder the better.

If I’m your Santa I will send you some things from my little California mission town. And I will do my best to find you things that you’ll like as well. I hope you post a little about yourself here but I also like to communicate through the SASS website as well.

Yay! I’d been worrying all month that SASS might not happen this year.

EDIT: Dear Santa, I would love something homemade and/or whatever fun/quirky/weird local stuff you can find. My sole “do not want” is artificially scented stuff, as I tend to be allergic and get migraines. Natural scented stuff is ok though (like, if you send me a bag of pine needles from a famous local tree I will probably be fine. Not that I’m requesting that specifically.).

i got literally, reins for a horse (but not a horse to go with them LAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and that's probably the coolest. i also got a fleece blanket/hoodie combo last year that has been life changing. i don't think you have to be creative or hands-on to make an impression just throw something crazy in a box and off it goes.

Some of the coolest stuff I’ve received was from my Santa’s local area like food, beer (although it is technically illegal to send this in the mail), other trinkets.

Last year my Santa lived in the Seattle area. I told them that I liked weird stuff, Tiki, Funko pops and they got me a bunch of weird stuff from Archie McPhee and a tiki themed Funko Pop. Both companies are both based out of the Seattle area.

You should definitely sign up! It one of the most fun things I do every year. Most goons post in this thread what they like so you have an idea of what to get. Plus you can anonymously contact your Santee through the SASS site to ask them more questions if they don’t post in this thread. If for some reason they don’t give you anything to go on, just get them whatever you think is cool.

You ever walk through a store and see something and think, "huh, that's weird." Or "neat?" That's the perfect thing. People posting what they like are just general guidelines that may inspire an idea or a list to be checked against. Just because someone is like, "I'm 35 and 361 days old, and I like animal skulls" doesn't mean you have to worry about finding a skull. As long as you send something.

Edit: also I'm 35 and 361 days old and I totally do like animal skulls and oddities and stuff. Just puttin' that out there for Santa if they happen to see this.

Mistaken Frisbee

I was worried this was canceled this year. I need to count back how many years I've been doing this, but I know it goes back to at least 2009 or 2010.

I'm a queer lady-goon married to another nerdy lady. We live in a rental home, and being in a house of my own for the first time as an adult, I'm pretty into holiday house and outdoor decorations. If you send before Christmas, Christmas decorations are good. If it's slated to get here later, then that's still good but maybe some other random holiday decorations you have? Easter? President's Day? Whatever. General yard games or decorations are good too.

We have two six-year old cats (both ~16lbs) that love flyer toys with the real bird feather ends or kicker toys. We got a precious two-year old Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua dog back in September, so clothes for a 10-lbs Chorkie dog, or very small dog toys, are probably the best gift. We're trying to make a baby, but I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready to have baby stuff around until we actually conceive.

So yeah, pet toys/clothes or seasonal yard decorations are ideal.

Santee - sometimes I'm not very good at the pre-Christmas deadline, but I'll try my best!

Dear Santa,

I am half of a couple living in the desert with an elderly rescue chinchilla who we love. We are in our late thirties, I'm an artist and my other half is an engineer, and we both enjoy weirdness. Big ACNH fans, love stationary and paper goods, I sew and I will gladly take your weird fabric scraps. Fave colors are red, golden yellow, or navy. We are both voracious readers, and we have also recently purchased our first house. We have a whole vintage vibe going on with a healthy sprinking of robots around (both real and art-kind). Charlie (the chinchilla) is on a pretty strict diet due to health issues, but small animal chew toys are her fave - sticks, willow balls, pumice stone, etc. Basically, any gift you send will be appreciated by one or all of us and we will have a grand time opening it! Even BEES!

PS - We also might be getting a niece for the holidays. So if you want to kick in something for a seven year old girl who is being adopted from a pretty heartbreaking home life, that would be great. Even if something does happen and the adoption doesn't go through, we can still give her the gift.

Dear Santee,

FFS, please write a Santa letter in this thread! I have all kinds of desert/bee related things to send to you, but I can make it way better if I read your words. I also message through the site promptly as soon as the assignments go up, so check your messages.

Dearest Snatter,

This is my first SASS, somehow, I think. I love connecting with people!

I live with my partner and our needy cat. I have an anthropology degree and adore learning about different places and people.

I collect taxidermy, have a bunch of tattoos, like eating good food/drinking good drinks and enjoy live music and festivals. I also enjoy travel and am so fed up with the pandemic making that difficult! I usually take an L in mens/unisex shirts, if that was an option on your mind. I'm a little baby gardener, having moved last year to a place with a garden for the first time since I left home. My favourite colours are purple/blue/pink/black/teal... I think that's enough about me.

Send me anything, really! It's awesome to give and to receive. Not gonna lie about the receiving bit.

Love and solidarity,
