I get really uncomfortable prosecuting less than 18 year olds as adults. Throwing away a 15 year old for life seems… hosed.

Does Donald Trump really think he could win after losing the incumbency?

Better question- Could he?

It’s very difficult, if not impossible, to convince me a 15 year old should stand trial as an adult.
I’m not saying have him roaming the streets but we as a society should be invested in rehabilitation of this kid vice trying him as an adult. The adult system is a full blown retribution machine, and not something we should be subjecting children to.

The juvenile system likely loses jurisdiction over him in either 3 or 6 years, whether punishment or rehabilitation is the path.

3-6 years is a lifetime for a child.

Gotcha. I kind of figured it was a trans woman thing, and in my mind inserted POC to make it the free space.

Yeah, I gotta be honest the political scape of this country isn’t beautiful for you as a trans woman- but I do feel like some gains are being made in the acceptance and equal treatment of LGBTQ+ Americans.

It is far from perfect, but we as a country have come a long way. I mean, for fucks sake, we as a sub forum have come a long way.

I remain cautiously optimistic that LGBTQ+ rights and issues will be addressed and addressed well. I know the T part of LGBTQ+ has the toughest row to hoe but I’m a middle aged cishet male who has a terrible track record on trans issues and I was brought around to the light.

I’d own a gun if I were you though, for real.

depending on where you are, things are actually not too bad right now, but its precarious. I don't live in the south anymore, so most of that isn't a normal concern.

Hey, I totally understand. I don’t have guns either, and for that exact reason. I get it. Good for you recognizing the risks and being a sane rational adult about it. I got relatives that aren’t making the same smart choices and I’m gonna hear about how one of them died “cleaning their gun”

What part of the south were you living in and where’d you escape to? Sometimes I think WI or MI or IL could be doable for a southerner like myself. I’m pretty well rooted in the South though and my dreams of rural midwest living are just that, dreams.

Grew up in TX for most of my life, exwife dragged me to FL which literally drove me to a mental breakdown. I'm in CO now, which is a MUCH better place, if you stick to civilization.

One of my good friends left the greater Memphis area for Colorado 5 years ago. It’s gorgeous out there, I went and visited him when he was living in the Colorado Springs area. Beautiful place but my fat, smoker, pot head, asthmatic, rear end got kicked by the altitude.

Hey you do live in the right state for it- Are you a fellow pot head?

Every gas station between Oxford Mississippi and Ozark County Missouri had these on the pumps. Deep MAGA country has played the joke out.

It was semi funny for 5 minutes when it was new to Twitter 6 months ago, I guess. It’s as dumb as let’s go Brandon now.

But you do you.

This reminds me of something I remember someone saying on a podcast. To get to be a Green Beret, someone has had to go to AIT, jump school, and usually RIP and Ranger school, where they learn leadership skills and advanced small unit tactics, then they go through SFAS and their year+ MOS training and Robin Sage, so they have years of training in basic infantry tactics, Op plans, etc. Some of them have combat deployments under their belt by the time they become a Green Beret.

A SEAL gets taken off the street, goes through BUDS, then goes through SEAL training. They have zero background in basic infantry and small unit tactics - basic poo poo that even Specialist Shithead would know, not even SOF knowledge. Then the SEAL gets through a 26 week Q course, then 6 months of training. But they have no infantry experience, no deployments under their belt, no knowledge of basic poo poo every Joe knows.

This lack of experience is so evident in the way SEALs operate overseas.

There’s a reason the Tier 1 SEAL’s do nothing significant without a Tier 2 Ranger QRF on hand. Full stop.

Rangers are Tier 1 and SEALs (that are not in DEVGRU) are Tier 2/3 going by the actual system.

It's based on some sort of state-of-readiness metric and how many hours/days it at minimum takes to get the unit from zero to on site a mission, has nothing (directly) to do with "elite-ness."

Also DEVGRU vs regular SEALs is a whole different level. I think DEVGRU cuts the vast majority of applicants from the regular teams.

Dude, this bullshit was my early and mid twenties. I worked with every tier of every level of JSOC. It’s all been written about elsewhere, but I know my poo poo when it comes to those idiots in SEAL Team 6. Or the regiment. It was a 3 star capture and kill command. All else was secondary or tertiary. Capture and Kill were the marching orders.

Also, not to correct you but only the regimental recon company is Tier 1 for the Rangers.

The tiers are just stupid readiness and money things like you said. But the RRC Rangers will quickly correct you about their tier if you are ever privileged enough to work with them.

For me the biggest LOL is how well the USAF has obscured its JSOC involvement. It’s loving huge. I can never remember what’s classified and what’s not so I go 100% classified even though I know that’s not what it is. My point being, lotta Air Power gets ate up by JSOC.
