I get really uncomfortable prosecuting less than 18 year olds as adults. Throwing away a 15 year old for life seems… hosed.

It’s very difficult, if not impossible, to convince me a 15 year old should stand trial as an adult. I’m not saying have him roaming the streets but we as a society should be invested in rehabilitation of this kid vice trying him as an adult. The adult system is a full blown retribution machine, and not something we should be subjecting children to.

It is far from perfect, but we as a country have come a long way. I mean, for fucks sake, we as a sub forum have come a long way. I remain cautiously optimistic that LGBTQ+ rights and issues will be addressed and addressed well. I know the T part of LGBTQ+ has the toughest row to hoe but I’m a middle aged cishet male who has a terrible track record on trans issues and I was brought around to the light. I’d own a gun if I were you though, for real.

Sometimes I think WI or MI or IL could be doable for a southerner like myself. I’m pretty well rooted in the South though and my dreams of rural midwest living are just that, dreams.

To get to be a Green Beret, someone has had to go to AIT, jump school, and usually RIP and Ranger school, where they learn leadership skills and advanced small unit tactics, then they go through SFAS and their year+ MOS training and Robin Sage, so they have years of training in basic infantry tactics, Op plans, etc. Some of them have combat deployments under their belt by the time they become a Green Beret. There’s a reason the Tier 1 SEAL’s do nothing significant without a Tier 2 Ranger QRF on hand. Full stop.

I worked with every tier of every level of JSOC. It’s all been written about elsewhere, but I know my poo poo when it comes to those idiots in SEAL Team 6. Or the regiment. It was a 3 star capture and kill command. All else was secondary or tertiary. Capture and Kill were the marching orders. Also, not to correct you but only the regimental recon company is Tier 1 for the Rangers. The tiers are just stupid readiness and money things like you said. But the RRC Rangers will quickly correct you about their tier if you are ever privileged enough to work with them. For me the biggest LOL is how well the USAF has obscured its JSOC involvement. It’s loving huge. I can never remember what’s classified and what’s not so I go 100% classified even though I know that’s not what it is. My point being, lotta Air Power gets ate up by JSOC.
