Do you have to slap it a few times once it's secure and say "Yep, that's not going anywhere!"

Oh that explains it. We didn't have cable until the late 80's and by then I was past the point of Nick's target audience. :corsair:

Are those aftermarket rearview mirrors?

You know it never crossed my mind, it's possible the PO did during the 2400 miles he had it.

e; They must've been little stick-ons on the stock mirrors. In hindsight they held up just great, but I don't think I really used them. Convex mirrors make more sense for a box truck or something where you can't just look behind you, and the view was tiny.

After 10 days of being home with my quarantined 3 year old mostly alone, all the dadding got to my head. I made this poor man’s rally screen so my withered neck muscles and slumping shoulders don’t have to work so hard. I cut one side out of a beefy trash can, this stuff is about 3 mm thick. Mocked up a template with paper, cut it to shape, and then went to work with the heat gun and a 1x2 and wood clamps for a jig. I have it on with some 3M tape for now. If it doesn’t take any tuning, I’ll throw some bolts on to keep it snug.

Honestly I get a ton of random people, men and women actually, commenting on the goldwing with some form of “I had one of those! I loved it!”, or “what year/how many miles?”

Everyone remembers their Oldwing fondly it seems.

Also they’re apparently dadbikes AND mombikes?

Also which tank bag is that and how do you like it? I'm struggling to find one for my MT-03 that doesn't look like it will stick up awkwardly. I went with this on the back for camping so I wouldn't have to install extra hardware: https://sw-motech.us/bike/YAMAHA/MT03ABS/2021/RH12/products/luggage/tail+bags/PRO+tail+bags/4052572198193.htm, but I do like the look of your cases.

somewhat related but mosko makes about the smallest WP tank bag I know of called the pico

you can attach a phone to it with the MOLLE loops too which is nice if you use your phone for maps. they'll also pay for part of it if you gently caress it up in a crash. it's very small, doesn't tag me in the balls when I'm riding offroad and have my crotch over the tank for hillclimbs

Ok I’ve done another one.
The stock DR seat sucks, and I can’t afford any improvements at the moment. So I figured I’d make my own cushion from stuff I have. I get a lot of shipments of glass containers in this beefy large cell bubble wrap at work, so there’s a never ending supply. The other day I sat on some for a while on a whim and it felt great. I remembered I had some nice outdoor fabric from another project and schemed a pouch to slide some sections of this bubble wrap (or other kinds of cushioning material) into. I sewed webbing loops into each corner so the whole thing can just be bungeed around the seat snugly. I’ll finish that part tomorrow as I’ve got a bunch of shock cord and a barrel clamp or two.

Velcro closure on one end so I can replace the bubble wrap or add more or change the cushioning material.

Finished
