As we have all come to acutely realize during the past ~2 years, much of the magic of the beautiful dumb game we all love comes from the atmosphere and passion of the fans.

Sometimes, the passion from this sport is used to wind up the other team's supporters:

Other times, it's to celebrate with your own supporters:

and sometimes it's the fans who enjoy winding you up.

Football fans are a passionate people

and are often not afraid to express their feelings about their team:

There can be exuberant highs

And devastating lows

whether that's being an Arsenal fan

or a bitchmade Brazilian

or an Azzuri supporter

or watching your beloved team being managed poorly

or the realization of being a bald fraud

or even watching your team lose a major final because it's managed by a bald fraud:

The Agony

And the Ectasy.

For some, football is their burning passion:

and they want you to know just how VERY seriously they take supporting their team

Other times, a player might get too close to a fan

Sometimes, that's ok though!

Being a football supporter can bring you closer together with your partner,

or find a new love:

It can be a very lonely experience

or maybe you love football because you can find attractive people there

It exposes you to new ways of doing things, whether that's food

or experiencing culture in other countries

It can give quality time with your kids

or even animals.

Football relaxes some people
https://i.imgur.com/dIpAW03.mp4

almost a religious experience

Football supporters come from all walks of life - whether the common man

heads of state:

even royalty:

although some supporters are referred to as plastic

Let's all celebrate football and its fans in this thread!

Football is a game of strong emotions. Sometimes it makes you want to hug your friends.

But it can also be a soothing balm at times.

Sometimes it just makes you want to share your happiness with the world.

And on the other hand, sometimes you just have to say,

My favorite though, the Scottish police being very upset about Copenhagen celebrating with fans... For the first goal Michael Santos kind of jumped into the crowd with a few other players, and he wasnt having any of it on the second goal, when the police tried to stop it.

There were "officially" 175,000 or so people at the Maracana for the 1950 World Cup final and god knows how many more thousands of people there having found/snuck their way in.

I cannot loving imagine being in a stadium packed that tight because if one thing goes wrong...well...people gonna die.

The one woman angrily yelling at him on the right of this photo always pissed me off

In the video of the incident you can see all of the other united fans around laughing and cheering, either ironically or otherwise because that was a brilliant peak Wenger moment

She piles forwards a number of rows just to get near to him and hurl invectives, like settle down you're winning 2-0

That reminds me of the Torres miss and the reaction to that. For a second or two it seemed like disbelief from the United degenerates, but then realized they could start laughing

The kid pointing and laughing in between the two guys with turbans is sensational.

This might be a bit too Liverpool-centric for many of you, but I remember seeing this after the 4-0 comeback against Barca and thinking how amazing it must have been to be at Anfield singing along.

they were actually winning eight goals to two at the time that photo was taken, which makes it much funnier that everyone except her is laughing
