So I looked up this convention and Galaverse posted:The Details But you have to meet the criteria to be selected to this exclusive event! quote:Applications will be reviewed and accepted in the following order:

Philman posted:'nfts scam' + 'if we only got 1% of fortnites market share' = that dumb cowboy game. That's the funny part about NFT scam games, the game part is a complete after thought. They pitch it as "It's like game X and Y and whatever else is popular currently all combined into one" but they never explain why I would want to play their shittier version of Fortnite over just playing actual Fortnite. I've always said the one thing holding back Fortnite is the lack of cowboy hats with unique serial numbers stamped into the leather.

That's honestly one of the strongest arguments against crypto games I've ever read.

The end game of that scenario is a select few super "clans" would dominate all of gaming by having a bunch of members online grinding 24/7 meaning that any individual player would never achieve anything as far as item progression goes.

And it will launch in 2024. Look how much R&D it takes Sony to make a console the size of a small car that meets those specs but yeah sure some guys involved with NFT will figure out how to fit it into a box of mints.

The Polium Whitepaper is pretty fun. It has 1 page that vaguely talks about the hardware in the most abstract terms and the other 14 are dedicated to how their multi-chain voodoo wallet bullshit will work.quote:We are currently building the functional prototype. We will have So we should be able to get confirmation from NVIDIA that they've partnered with Polium right?? Popete fucked around with this message at 05:23 on Jul 5, 2022 |

I'm starting to wonder if they really do have a partnership for a custom CPU/GPU from NVIDIA...

# ¿ Jul 5, 2022 18:21 |
Well they also have the backing of all the people at NVIDIA who are providing them a custom CPU/GPU. That's gotta count for something.

I guess it's not surprising that the company buoyed by being a meme stock decided to go all in on NFTs.

I'm no investor whizz but in the situation where Citadel was "forced" to buy stocks at millions of dollars per share would they not just go bankrupt and never purchase back the stocks?

I hope one of the questions was "How come NFTs are so cool and good?".

I thought that bombed as the early scapegoat but later iterations of microtransactions/DLC created our modern gaming hellscape Probably not but it was the harbinger of microtransactions in gaming, SE might expect a lot of negative backlash but if they can get in early on what they see as the continuation of the microtransaction trend it could be worth it. We can only hope the wider public continues to reject this garbage.

I think my fear with this stuff is that somehow someway companies are going to make this happen, it's just another way to nickle and dime consumers and if they can just get people to begrudgingly accept it by building it into a product they already use it oculd just become the norm like microtransactions.

You only have to look at Dookey Dash to see how that would turn out. A bunch of people will pay large amounts of money for someone else to "win" for them and/or it will be infested with cheating. It would not be fun for the 99.9% of players who don't want to spend every waking second of their life trying to compete in the game or pay someone else to.
